1. Union Tribal Affairs Minister lays the foundation stone for Eklavya Model Residential School at Nashik
- Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Shri Arjun Munda and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Bharati Pawar today laid the foundation stone for construction of Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Shinde, Nashik, Maharashtra.
- The proposed EMR School aims to make quality education accessible to tribal students in remote tribal hinterlands of Nashik.
- Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) were introduced in the year 1997-98.
2. RBI appoints Sitikantha Pattanaik, Rajiv Ranjan as executive directors
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Rajiv Ranjan as Executive Director (ED) with effect from May 1.
- Prior to the appointment, Dr. Ranjan was serving as Adviser-in-Charge of the Monetary Policy Department and Secretary to the Monetary Policy Committee.
- The RBI has also announced the appointment of Sitikantha Pattanaik as the new Executive Director.
3. NITI Aayog Launches The National Data & Analytics Platform
- NITI Aayog launched the National Data & Analytics Platform (NDAP) for open public use today.
- The platform aims to democratize access to public government data by making data accessible, interoperable, interactive, and available on a user-friendly platform.
- NDAP can be accessed at http://ndap.niti.gov.in and all datasets on the platform can be downloaded and merged freely.
4. Power Ministry additional Secretary Vivek Kumar Dewangan appointed CMD of REC
- The Government of India appointed Vivek Kumar Dewangan, Additional Secretary in the Union Power Ministry, as the chairman and managing director of power sector lender REC Ltd, formerly known as Rural Electrification Corporation.
- REC Limited is a public infrastructure finance company in the power sector.
- It is a PSU that finances and promotes power projects across India.
5. RBI restricts withdrawals from Shankarrao Pujari Nutan Nagari Sahakari Bank
- The RBI imposed several restrictions on Shankarrao Pujari Nutan Nagari Sahakari Bank Limited, Ichalkaranji, Kolhapur, including on withdrawals, in view of the lender’s worsening financial position.
- The restrictions will remain in force for a period of six months from the close of business on May 13, 2022 and are subject to review.

6. RBI imposes Rs 59 lakh penalty on KEB Hana Bank
- RBI said it has imposed a penalty of Rs 59 lakh on KEB Hana Bank for non-compliance with the certain norms related to ‘interest rate on deposits’.
- The Korean bank has been penalised for non-compliance with the directions issued by RBI on “Reserve Bank of India (Interest Rate on Deposits) Directions, 2016”.

7. NITI Aayog launches experience studio to foster innovation and adoption of drones for public services
- To promote a collaborative ecosystem aimed at fostering innovation and adoption of drones for public services, an experience studio on drones was launched by civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia at NITI Aayog.
- NITI Aayog Vice Chairperson Suman Bery and CEO Amitabh Kant were also present in the inaugural event.
8. GAIL awards contract to set up PEM based Green Hydrogen project
- In line with the National Hydrogen Mission targets, GAIL (India) Limited has awarded a contract to set up one of the country’s largest Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) based green hydrogen projects.
- The project would be installed at GAIL’s Vijaipur Complex, in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh, and would be based on renewable power.
- The project is scheduled to be commissioned by November 2023.

- RailTel Corporation of India Limited, an Indian public sector enterprise focusing on providing broadband and VPN services, announced the appointment of Aruna Singh as Chairman cum Managing Director of the company, with effect from May 11, 2022.
