1. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal Receives The Holy Kapilvastu Relics Of Lord Buddha Brought Back From Mongolia
- The four Holy Relics of Lord Buddha came back to India after being displayed for 12 days at the Batsagaan Temple within the premises of Gandan Monastery, Mongoliaas part of celebrations of Mongolian Buddha Purnima.
- Union minister Shri Arjun Meghwal received the holy relics at Ghaziabad.

2. Sh. Nitin Gadkari Inaugurates And Lays Foundation Stone Of 9 NH Projects Worth Rs 1357 Crore In Rajasthan
- Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari Inaugurated and laid foundation stone of 9 NH(National Highways) projects of 243 km length worth Rs 1357 Crore in Rajasthan.
- 25 new bypasses were announced in Rajasthan at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore.
- Besides, a provision of Rs. 200 crore has been made for ROB on state highways under Setubandhan Yojana.
3. Maruti India’s first MD, Dr V Krishnamurthy, the ‘father of public sector undertaking in India, passes away at 97
- V Krishnamurthy, former MD, Maruti Udyog (Maruti Suzuki, at present) passed away.
- The veteran was appointed as the company’s first vice-chairman and MD in 1981.
- He was honoured with Padma Shri in 1973, the Padma Bhushan in 1986 and the Padma Vibushan in 2007, respectively.
- He is credited to make Maruti a passenger vehicle OEM.
- He was chairman of BHEL and SAIL as well.
4. UN Ocean Conference kicks off in Lisbon
- A five-day UN Ocean Conference kicked off yesterday with Kenya and Portugal being the co-hosts.
- Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh is leading the Indian delegation.
- Leaders from over 130 countries from across the world will deliberate for five days to find an international agreement on protecting the world’s oceans, seas and marine resources.
- Sustainable Development Goal 14 is about “Life below water”.
5. NITI Aayog launches report ‘India’s Booming Gig and Platform Economy’ on gig economy in India
- Gig workers are typically those who work freelance, contractual, temporary, or on-call basis.
- It is estimated that in 2020-21,77 lakh workers were engaged in the gig economy.
- They constituted 2.6% of the non-agricultural workforce or 1.5% of the total workforce in India.
- It is expected to expand to 2.35 crore workers by 2029-30.
6. Noted lyricist, author and journalist, Chowalloor Krishnankutty passed away
- In Kerala, noted lyricist, author and journalist, Chowalloor Krishnankutty passed away at a private Medical College Hospital in Thrissur.
- He was 86.
- A former Staff Artist with AIR, Krishnankutty penned over 3000 devotional songs and authored more than 200 books.
- He retired as an Assistant Editor with the Malayala Manorama daily.
7. World Bank approves $250 mn loan for India’s road safety programme
- The World Bank has approved the financing of $250 million to support the Government of India’s Program for Strengthening Road Safety.
- With only 1% of the world’s vehicles, India accounts for almost 10% of all crash related deaths.
- The poor households bear a higher proportion of the socio-economic burden with over 70% of victims in poor households.
- According to the World Bank study, road crashes are estimated to cost 5 to 7% of GDP in India.
8. Acemoney launches offline UPI, wearable ATM cards
- Leading fintech services company Acemoney has launched UPI 123Pay payment & wearable ATM cards.
- UPI 123Pay payment allows people to carry out cashless transactions without smartphones or internet connections using feature phones.
- Wearable ATM cards are gadgets designed as key chains & rings that enable people to carry out cashless transactions without ATM cards & phones.
- Acemoney is a fintech company, based out of Kerala.
9. RBI grants Prepaid Payment Instrument licence to Mufin Finance
- Mufin Finance, one of the leading NBFCs, has received in-principal RBI approval for issuance of semi-closed prepaid payment instruments.
- A semi-closed PPI licence allows digital banks, fintech firms and large consumer-facing applications to roll out features such as digital payment solutions for lending.
- Mufin Finance is the fourth NBFC to receive such a licence.
10. “Forensic Science Capabilities: Strengthening for Time-bound and Scientific Investigation” assembly chaired by Amit Shah
- Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Amit Shah chaired the assembly of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of Ministry of Home Affairs, at Kevadia, in Gujarat.
- The meeting reviewed the forensic science capabilities available in the country and Shah said the home ministry is committed to achieving the conviction rate of up to 90 per cent in crime cases.
- National Forensic Science University is located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
11. India-UK launches joint Commonwealth Diplomatic Academy programme
- Joint statement by UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss and External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar on the establishment of an India-UK Commonwealth Diplomatic Academy programme to be hosted in New Delhi was released.
- The Academy programme will equip young diplomats from all Commonwealth Member States with expertise and training on global challenges.
