- Justice Uday Umesh Lalit sworn-in as Chief Justice of India.
- President Draupadi Murmu administered his oath as the 49th Chief Justice of India at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

- Justice U U Lalit will be in office for 74 days, a tenure shorter than average.
2. Indian Navy’s AK-630 gun gets first made in India ammunition
- Prime Minister’s Make in India in the defence sector received a major boost as the Indian Navy received the first-ever completely made in India 30mm ammunition.
- The ammunition will be used in AK-630 guns, which are fitted on warships.
- It was the first time that the services had placed an order on the Indian private industry to deliver complete gun ammunition.
3. Indian Judoka Linthoi Chanambam wins gold at World Cadet Judo Championship
- Linthoi Chanambam scripted history by winning India’s first-ever medal in Judo World Championships with a gold in the Women’s 57kg category at the World Judo Cadet (U18) Championships.
- The 15-year-old judoka outclassed Brazil’s Bianca Reis in the 57kg category final.
- She became the first Indian judoka to win a medal at any age-group category of the World Championships.

6. RBI imposes restrictions on Thodupuzha Urban Co-operative Bank, Kerala
- The RBI barred customers of Thodupuzha Urban Co-operative Bank, Kerala, from withdrawing funds as part of several restrictions imposed on the lender due to its deteriorating financial condition.
- The Reserve Bank, in a statement said the restrictions on the bank came into force from the close of business.

15. Telcom department amends RoW rules to expedite 5G infrastructure rollout
- The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Union Telecom and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw released amendment in the Indian Telegraph Right of Way (RoW) Rules, 2016 to facilitate faster and easier deployment of telecom infrastructure and launched a new 5G RoW application ‘form’ on GatiShakti Sanchar Portal to enable faster 5G rollout in India.
16. Germany inaugurates world’s first hydrogen-powered train fleet
- German officials launched what they say is the world’s first fleet of hydrogen-powered passenger trains, replacing 15 diesel trains that previously operated on non-electrified tracks in the state of Lower Saxony.
- The 14 trains use hydrogen fuel cells to generate electricity that powers the engines.

- India’s leading exporter in the leather industry, Tamil Nadu, has announced an investment of ₹2,250 crore in the footwear and leather sector and launched an annual policy for the industry in Tamil Nadu Footwear and Leather Sector Conclave 2022.
- CM MK Stalin also launched the ‘Tamil Nadu Footwear and Leather Products Policy 2022’.
