1. Md. Mustafizur Rahman appointed Bangladesh High Commissioner to India
- The Govt. of Bangladesh has decided to appoint Md. Mustafizur Rahman, as the next High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India.
- He will be replacing Muhammad Imran in this capacity, said a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
- Mustafizur Rahman is currently serving as the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Offices in Geneva.
2. India ranks 135 out of 146 in Global Gender Gap Index
- India has been ranked 135 out of 146 countries in the World Economic Forum’s Gender Gap Report 2022.
- The country has scored 0.629, on a scale of 0 to 1, which is its seventh-highest score in the last 16 years.
- In 2021, India ranked 140 out of a total 156 countries on the index.
- Iceland has been ranked first in the index.
3. TIME lists Kerala among world’s top destinations
- Ahmedabad city and the state of Kerala have been listed by TIME magazine among the “50 extraordinary destinations to explore” in its list of the world’s greatest places of 2022.

- The Madagascar government and Telecommunications Consultants India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for participation in the Pan African e network project named e-VidyaBharti and e-AarogyaBharti (e-VBAB).

5. Over one crore twenty-two lakh houses sanctioned under PMAY-U, says Union Minister Kaushal Kishore
- Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Kaushal Kishore has said that over one crore twenty-two lakh houses have been sanctioned so far under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Urban ( PMAY-U) in the country.
- The scheme was launched in 2015 with an aim of providing housing to all.
6. User consent must for UPI apps to collect location data, directs NPCI
- In the UPI application programme interface (API) framework, geo-tagged information of the payment is captured while initiating a transaction.
- National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) guidelines state that location details along with other relevant customer data need to be captured within the app provider’s system in an encrypted format.

7. Haryana CM M. Khattar, Union Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurate NIFT campus in Panchkula
- Union Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated the 17th campus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Panchkula, calling it a “fulcrum of development of the textile sector in the state”.
- Goyal hoped that the landmark campus will help create a complete ecosystem of textiles in Haryana.
- Set up in 1986, NIFT is the pioneering institute of fashion education in India.
8. Ola Electric unveils indigenously made Li-ion cell
- Ola Electric unveiled the country’s first indigenously developed lithium ion cell.
- The Bengaluru-based two-wheeler maker said it will begin the mass production of the cell NMC 2170, from its Chennai-based Gigafactory by 2023.
- The use of specific chemistry and materials enables the cell to pack more energy in a given space and also improves the overall life cycle of the cell.
9. GrandMaster D Gukesh wins Gijon Chess Masters; inches closer to breaking 2700 rating barrier
- Young Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh lifted the Gijon Chess Masters title at Gijon, Spain in July 2022.
- The 16-year-old scored 8 points out of 9 to be crowned the champion.
- Gukesh drew with Cuban GM Martinez Duany in his final round match to seal the title.
- Gukesh has now moved up to 2693 in the live rating scale and is within touching distance of becoming only the sixth India.
10. ‘Order of the Rising Sun’ award conferred on Sanmar Group Vice Chairman
- The government of Japan has conferred the ‘Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star’ award on Sanmar Group Vice Chairman Narayanan Kumar in recognition of his contribution towards strengthening economic relations between Japan and India.
- Kumar also heads the Indo-Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
- He had served the Confederation of Indian Industry as its president.

11. IMGC has partnered with the RBL Bank to offer mortgage guarantee-backed home loan products
- India Mortgage Assure Corp. has partnered with RBL Financial institution to supply mortgage guarantee-backed house mortgage merchandise for salaried and non-salaried prospects.
- This partnership with IMGC will assist RBL Financial institution prolong mortgage guarantee-backed house loans to new borrower segments by its community of over 500 branches throughout the country.
12. Mohammed Shami becomes fastest Indian to take 150 ODI wickets
- Mohammed Shami became the fastest Indian bowler to 150 ODI wickets in the first India vs England ODI at the Kennington Oval.
- The seamer needed 80 matches to reach 150 ODI wickets.
- Shami Achieved the feat with his second wicket of the match.
- Overall, Shami is third joint-fastest to reach 150 ODI wickets.
- He shares the record with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan.
13. Paper Import Monitoring System (PIMS) will come into effect from 1st October this year
- As per PIMS, an importer will have to provide advance information online about the import of papers and obtain a registration number.
- The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has introduced the Paper Import Monitoring System by amending the import policy of major paper products.
- Paper Import Monitoring System (PIMS) will come into effect from 1st October 2022.

- Union Minister for Mines Pralhad Joshi has said that Sustainable Mining is the need of the hour.
- Inaugurating the 6th National Conclave on Mines and Minerals in New Delhi on July 12th 2022, minister said that the Mineral Mining Sector has reached its zenith of growth and under PM’s vision mineral production is scaling to new heights.

15. India will surpass China as the most populous country in the world in 2023: United Nation
- The UN in the World Population Prospects 2022 has said that India will surpass China as the most populous country on earth in 2023.
- The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Population Division, said that the global population is projected to reach eight billion on November 15, 2022.
- The UN said, world’s population is growing at its slowest pace since1950.
16. India’s Arjun Babuta wins first gold medal at ISSF World Cup in South Korea
- In Shooting, India’s Arjun Babuta has won his first gold medal at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup stage at Changwon in South Korea.
- He defeated Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Lucas Kozeniesky of the USA 17-9 in the final.
- Arjun Babuta had also topped the eight-men ranking round with a score of 261.1 ahead of Lucas Kozeniesky 260.4.
17. IISc team develops technology for generating hydrogen from biomass
- A team of researchers at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has developed technology to produce hydrogen from biomass, marking what the developers called a significant step forward in extracting green hydrogen.
- The indigenous technology for the carbon negative production of hydrogen was developed by a team led by S Dasappa.
- India uses close to 50 lakh tonnes of hydrogen.

- The Indian Banks’ Association has come out with a Request for Proposal for appointing an agency / firm / institution to design and deliver a leadership development programme for senior officers of public sector banks.
- The objective is to develop a future generation of leaders who are digitally savvy, strategic thinkers with capability to build highly collaborative working teams.
19. Star Health partners with MeitY to reach rural markets
- Star Health and Allied Insurance Co. Ltd. and Common Services Centres (CSC), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, have partnered to provide over 5 lakh CSCs access to a select range of Star Health insurance products.
- These products have been designed to meet the needs of rural customers across the tier-II, tier-III cities.
20. Uttarakhand becomes first state to initiate process of NEP 2020, policy implemented at Pre Primary level
- Uttarakhand in July 2022 became the first state in the country to initiate the process of implementing the Centre’s New Education Policy (NEP), with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurating Bal Vatikas’ at anganwadi kendras across the state to strengthen the pre-primary education system.
- The Bal Vatikas’ will function at 4,457 anganwadi kendras equivalent to the nursery class.
