10. RBI raises WMA limit to ₹2-lakh crore in H1 FY21
- Reserve Bank of India (RBI), in consultation with the Government of India, has revised the limit for Ways and Means Advances (WMA).
- For the remaining part of the first half of FY21 (April 2020 to September 2020) to Rs. 2-lakh crore.
- Ways and Means Advances scheme was introduced in 1997.
11. RBI announces calendar of MPC meetings for current financial year
- MPC = Monetary Policy Committee
- RBI has announced the calendar of the meetings of the MPC for the current financial year.
- Decision of the 1st meet will be announced on June 5, 2020.
- Other meetings will take place on August 4 -6; September 29-30 & October 1; December 2-4; & Feb 3-5, 2021.
- MPC comprises six members.
12. Finance Ministry sanctions Rs 46,038 crore as states share in taxes for April
- The finance ministry sanctioned the release of Rs 46,038.10 crore to states as their share of central taxes and duties for April.
- The first instalment of tax devolution was made as per the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission (FC).
- Uttar Pradesh received the highest amount at Rs 8,255.19 crore.
