1. Former Google executive Sajith Sivanandan appointed as EVP and Head of Disney+ Hotstar
- Disney International has appointed former Google Pay managing director Sajith Sivanandan as executive vice president and head of Disney + Hotstar to oversee its overall business operations in India, and chart a product roadmap for the over-the-top (OTT) streaming service.
- He started his career with Star TV in India and managed the North India market for Channel V.

- The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has imposed prudential limits on investments by portfolio managers in their own associates or related parties.

4. Tomato Flu spread in India: Centre issues advisory to states on Tomato Flu
- The Centre has issued an advisory to states on Hand Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD), commonly known as Tomato Flu.
- According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Tomato Flu was first identified in the Kollam district of Kerala on May 6 and as of July 26, more than 82 children younger than 5 years with the infection have been reported by the local government hospitals.

14. India’s first observatory to monitor space activity to come up in Uttarakhand
- India’s first commercial space situational awareness observatory, to track objects as small as 10 cm in size orbiting the earth, will be set up in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand by Digantara, a space sector start-up.
- The space situational awareness observatory will help India track any activity in space including that of space debris and military satellites hovering India.
15. India notifies overseas investment rules and regulations to boost ease of doing business
- The Foreign Exchange Management (Overseas Investment) Rules, 2022 will subsume extant regulations pertaining to Overseas Investments and Acquisition and Transfer of Immovable Property Outside India Regulations, 2015.
- The rules have been framed by the Government of India in consultation with the Reserve Bank.
16. IREDA signs MoU with MAHAPREIT to provide loans for Green Energy projects
- Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) Ltd. signed an MoU with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Ltd. a wholly owned subsidiary of MPBCDC (49% owned by Govt. of India and 51% owned by Govt. of Maharashtra) In accordance with the MoU, IREDA will offer financing facilities to MAHAPREIT for the Renewable Energy projects to be implemented for state.
