1. NDDB’s subsidiary for manure management – launched by Parshottam Rupala
- Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Mr Parshottam Rupala formally launched the NDDB MRIDA Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary company of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), to carry forward manure management initiatives across the nation.

2. The 2nd Indian Indermit Gill appointed as Chief Economist of World Bank
- The World Bank has appointed Indian national Indermit Gill as its Chief Economist and Senior Vice President for Development Economics.
- Gill will succeed American economist Carmen Reinhart in the role and his appointment will be effective September 1, 2022.

5. Mastercard set to replace Paytm as title sponsor for all BCCI matches in India
- Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s long-standing title sponsor for international cricket at home – Paytm is backing out from the deal and will be replaced by Mastercard.

- This year, the Fédération Internationale des Échecs will organise the 44th International Chess Olympiad in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu.
7. TRAI tests 5G readiness in Bhopal, Delhi Airport, Kandla Port, Bengaluru Metro and Kandla port
- Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) initiated pilots of 5G readiness across various locations in India.
- TRAI used 5G small cells in street furniture in Bhopal Smart City, GMR International Airport New Delhi, Deendayal Port Kandla & Namma Metro Bengaluru.

- Bangalore-based electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing company Altigreen has joined hands with the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (CAIML) of Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Kolkata for improving the energy efficiency of EVs using machine learning techniques.

14. Assam CM launches scheme for welfare of native weavers
- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched ‘Swanirbhar Naari’, a scheme to empower indigenous weavers in Assam’s Guwahati.
- Under the ‘Swanirbhar Naari’ scheme, the state government will procure handloom items directly from the indigenous weavers via a web portal.
