1. Aadi Bazaar – A Celebration of the spirit of Tribal culture and cuisine inaugurated at Gujarat
- Keeping in line with the series of Aadi Bazaars:A Celebration of the spirit of Tribal culture and cuisine, another one was inaugurated on 26th March, 2022 at Kevadia, Statue of Unity in Narmada district of Gujarat.
- Organised by TRIFED of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the 11 day exhibition, was inaugurated by Smt. Nimishaben Suthar, Minister of State for Tribal Development
2. India crosses milestone of 50,000 ODF Plus villages
- The country has crossed a milestone of 50 thousand open defecation-free(ODF) Plus villages.
- Among the top performing States are Telangana with 13,960 ODF Plus villages followed by Tamil Nadu & Madhya Pradesh.
- Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen Phase-II was launched in February 2020 with the aim to ensure that all villages in the country can declare themselves as ODF Plus by 2024.
3. Indian Railways’ women team wins gold in National Cross Country Championship
- Indian Railways’ women team became the winner in the 56th National Cross Country Championship (Men & Women) held at Kohima in the state of Nagaland.
- Indian Railways women athletes won Gold in the team event while the Men team won the Silver.
- Varsha Devi, Manju Yadav, Preenu Yadav and Munni Devi were members of Railway Sports Promotion Board team in the Championship.
4. Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 launches peer learning webinar series “SwachhTalks” with flagship webinar on SafaiMitra Suraksha
- The SBM – Urban Mission organised the first-of-its-kind “SwachhTalks” as part of its peer learning webinar series for States/UT and ULB,with the theme “SafaiMitra Suraksha in 100 lighthouse cities”.
- The objective of the webinar was to accelerate the progress of these 100 cities towards complete ‘manhole to machinehole’ transformation to ensure safety & security of SafaiMitras.
5. CSIR-NAL showcases civil aircraft initiatives at Wings India 2022
- CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore (CSIR-NAL) is participating in Wings India 2022 and showcasing its indigenous initiatives of civil aircrafts for flying training & commuter air connectivity.
- HANSA–NG Aircraft designed and developed by CSIR-NAL is a major attraction in Wings 2022.
- HANSA-NG is one of the most advanced two seat flying trainer aircraft.
6. National Commission for Women organises Seminar on Racial Diversity Sensitization
- National Commission for Women(NCW) organised a seminar on ‘Racial Diversity Sensitization’ in collaboration with Bureau of Police Research & Development, National Commission for Minorities and Special Police Unit for North-Eastern Region(SPUNER) of Delhi Police to spread awareness towards different cultures in India & to recommend strategies for strengthening understanding.
7. Ten-day Red Fort Festival-Bharat Bhagya Vidhata to begin in New Delhi
- The ten-day Red Fort Festival – Bharat Bhagya Vidhata will begin at the iconic 17th-century monument, Red Fort in New Delhi.
- Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Zubin Irani will inaugurate the festival.
- It will feature a wide range of experiences including “Matrubhumi” – Projection Mapping Show, a Cultural Parade, Khao Galli, Anokhe Vastra, and Khel Manch.
8. Payments Council of India re-elects Infibeam Avenues’ Vishwas Patel as chairman
- Payments Council of India (PCI), a payments ecosystem industry body and a part of the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has re-elected Vishwas Patel as the chairman of PCI for another term.
- Praveena Rai, COO, National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and MN Srinivasu, Co-founder and Director at BillDesk have been appointed as co-chairs of its seven committees
9. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar holds talks with Chinese counterpart Wang Yi
- In the first major diplomatic engagement between India and China in nearly two years, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his visiting Chinese counterpart Wang Yi held extensive talks covering the eastern Ladakh row and the geopolitical turmoil triggered by the crisis in Ukraine.
- Wang, who holds the rank of state councillor, arrived in Delhi from Kabul.
10. SpiceJet, Boeing and CSIR-IIP team up on sustainable aviation fuel
- SpiceJet, Boeing and CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP) have joined hands to explore opportunities for the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in the Indian aviation industry.
- This collaboration is a part of the organisations’ commitment to help reduce carbon emissions, contributing to the Indian Government’s environmental goals.
- The collaboration was announced at the ongoing Wings India 2022 civil aviation conference.
11. IIE Signs MoU With MoRD To Enhance The Impact Of The Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP)
- In line with Atmanirbhar Bharat, the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), to promote entrepreneurship at a local level amongst the rural youth.
12. RBI Sets Framework For Geo-Tagging Of Payment System Operators
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released a framework for geo-tagging of payment system touch points, issuing instructions to bank and non bank payment system operators to maintain and submit to it the geographical locations of their touch points on a regular basis.
- The announcement was made in the Statement on Developmental and Regulatory Policies released by the RBI.
13. Karnataka Governor appoints Justice Phaneendra as new Upa Lokayukta
- After a gap of nearly two years, a former judge of the Karnataka High Court Justice K N Phaneendra has been appointed the Upa Lokayukta of the state.
- Karnataka Governor issued a notification appointing Justice Phaneendra for the post following a consultation with the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, Speaker of Legislative Assembly, Chairman of Legislative Council.
- Karnataka Chief Minister : Basavaraj Bommai.
- Karnataka Governor : Thaawar Chand Gehlot.
14. India successfully tests extended range version of BrahMos cruise missile from Andaman and Nicobar Islands
- India on March 23 successfully test fired the extended range version of a surface-to-surface BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from a launch pad in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
- The successful launch of what is arguably the world’s fastest cruise missile with a maximum speed of Mach 2.8 (nearly three times the speed of sound), was witnessed by the Chief of the Air Staff.

- The Street Light National program(SLNP) was launched by the Government in January 2015 to replace conventional street lights with smart and energy efficient LED street lights in the municipal sector across the country.
- Atal Jyoti Yojana(AJAY) Phase-II which provides for installation of solar street lights in remote, rural and semi-urban areas, was launched in December, 2018
