1. Cabinet approves 540 MW Kwar Hydroelectric project in J&K’s Kishtwar
- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the construction of 540 MW Kwar Hydro Electric project located on river Chenab in Kishtwar district of UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
- The project will be implemented by Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited which is a joint venture company between NHPC & JKSPDC.
- The project has been approved with an investment of over 4 thousand 526 crore rupees.
2. Reliance Industries becomes first Indian firm to hit Rs 19 lakh crore market valuation mark
- Reliance Industries Limited became the first Indian company to hit the Rs 19 lakh crore market valuation mark following a rally in its share price.
- The market heavyweight stock jumped 1.85 per cent to its record high of Rs 2,827.10 on the BSE.
- In March this year, the company’s market valuation had gone past Rs 18 lakh crore.
3. Vijay Sampla appointed NCSC chairperson for second time
- BJP leader and former Union minister Vijay Sampla has been appointed as the chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) for a second time.
- Sampla had resigned as the NCSC chairman ahead of the Punjab elections and had contested the polls.
4. India to host accountants World Congress for the first time in 118 years
- Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is set to host 21st World Congress of Accountants (WCOA), the kumbh of accountants, for the first time in 118 years of its existence, ICAI president Debashis Mitra.
- The event will be held from November 18 to 21 after outbidding France.
5. Kerala signs MoU with Netherlands for Cosmos Malabaricus project
- Kerala and Netherlands have signed an MoU for the Cosmos Malabaricus project to help illustrate the history of the southern state in the 18th century, said the state government.
- The agreement also aims to establish paint academics at Kollam and Malappuram.
- The MoU has been signed in the presence of Pinarayi Vijayan, chief minister, Kerala & Marten van den Berg, Netherland.

11. Atal Pension Yojana total enrolments cross 4 crore
- Government’s social security scheme Atal Pension Yojana (APY) has crossed total enrollments of 4.01 crore as on March 2022 out of which more than 99 lakh APY accounts were opened during the last financial year itself.
- State Bank of India, Indian Bank, Bank of India, Bank of Baroda and Central Bank of India achieved annual targets in the Public-sector Bank category.
12. Former Kenyan president Kibaki dies at 90
- Former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki has died at the age of 90.
- Kibaki’s death was announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta, who said his passing was a sad day for the country and praised his predecessor as a great Kenyan.
- Kibaki served two terms as president of the East African country, ruling from 2002 to 2013.
