1. 3 districts of Rajasthan top MoE’s first-ever school index ‘Performance Grading Index for Districts (PGI-D)’
- Top performing districts were Jaipur, Sikar and Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan.
- They scored more than 80% overall under the various parameters defined.
- PGI-D structure has a total weightage of 600 points under 6 categories.
- Index organises districts in 10 grades, highest being ‘Daksh’ & lowest being ‘Akanshi-3’.
- The Rajasthan toppers found a place in ‘Utkarsh’(81-90%) grade in 2019-20.
- Indexes were based on data from academic years 2018-19 and 2019-2020.
2. Union Agriculture Minister inaugurates Honey Testing Lab in Nagaland
- Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar launched the Honey Testing Laboratory at Dimapur, Nagaland.
- He also visited the Bamboo Museum and Organic AC Market.

3. India, Malaysia hold talks to enhance defence cooperation under the existing Malaysia India Defence Cooperation Meeting (MIDCOM)
- Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh held a Video Conference with Senior Defence Minister of Malaysia, YB Dato ‘Seri HishammuddinTun Hussein on June 27, 2022.
- A wide range of issues concerning bilateral, regional and defence industrial cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
- The next MIDCOM is scheduled to be held in July 2022.
4. SBI Ecowrap research reported that Inequality of Income in India has declined significantly since Financial Year 2017
- India’s poverty ratio has also declined to 17.9% in 2020-21 from 21.9% in 2011-12, the report said.
- It also says that the income inequality in the country has also declined during the Covid-19.
- India has done quite well during the pandemic in terms of navigating income shocks across deciles of population.

5. Indian start-up IG Drones wins the prestigious Global Airwards Best Drone Organization award
- Delhi-based drone enterprise platform leader IG Drones has been awarded “Best Drone Organization – Start-up Category” by Airwards.
- IG Drones was selected for the award for its approach to helping local communities and providing access to technology to diverse stakeholders during natural disasters and disasters.
6. To recoup payment for GST dues, nod for compensation cess levy till March 2026
- In order to recoup payment for GST dues, the finance ministry has given an extension of nearly 4 years for the levy of GST compensation cess, till March 31, 2026.
- The GST Council previously approved the repayment of loans intended to compensate states for the five years since the July 2017 rollout.
- This extension of the cess levy is in line with that permission.
7. Khushi Patel from United Kingdom wins Miss India Worldwide 2022
- Khushi Patel, a biomedical student from the United Kingdom, has been declared the winner of the Miss India Worldwide 2022, the longest-running Indian pageant outside of India.
- Roshani Razack from Guyana was declared Miss Teen India Worldwide 2022.
- Vaidehi Dongre from the US was declared the first runner up on Friday night while Shrutika Mane was adjudged the second runner up.
8. Olympic Champion Sydney McLaughlin breaks own 400m hurdles world record
- Olympic Champion Sydney McLaughlin broke her own world record in the 400-meter hurdles at the US outdoor track and field championships.
- She crossed the finish line at Hayward Field in 51.41 seconds, breaking her own record of 51.46 set last year at the Tokyo Games.
9. Menar bird village to be developed as wetland
- Recognised as the “bird village” following community-driven conservation efforts, Menar in Udaipur district is set to be notified as Rajasthan’s new wetland.
- This will pave the way for getting the Ramsar site status for this rural heartland of the Mewar region.
- The two lakes in the village – the Brahma and Dhandh – play host to a large number of migratory birds in winter.
10. Odisha govt bags first prize in National MSME Award 2022
- The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Department, Government of Odisha has been awarded first prize in the category “National MSME Award 2022 to States/UTs for outstanding contribution in the promotion and Development of MSME Sector” by virtue of various developmental initiatives taken up for the development of MSMEs.
- Bihar and Haryana were second and third respectively.
11. Odisha-based ‘Mo Bus’ service named recipient of prestigious UN Public Service Award
- An Odisha-based public transport service is among the 10 global initiates honoured with a prestigious United Nations award on Wednesday for their role and efforts in helping the world recover better from COVID-19.
- The 2022 UN Public Service Award winners were announced by Liu Zhenmin, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs.
12. National Kiteboarding championship started in Tuticorin from June 27
- The third edition of the National Kiteboarding Championship started in Tuticorin.
- The event saw over 50 athletes from all over the country competing for top honours.
- The regatta governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.
- The three-day event started under the aegis of the Yachting Association of India (YAI).
- Kiteboarding made its debut in the Olympics at Paris in 2024.
13. Dhanalakshmi becomes 3rd fastest Indian woman in 200m
- Tokyo Olympian Dhanalakshmi Sekar clocked her personal best time of 22.89s to win the 200m sprint at the Qosanov Memorial 2022 athletics meet in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
- Dhanalakshmi is only the third Indian woman to run sub-23s after national record holder Saraswati Saha (22.82s) and Hima Das (22.88s).
- Another Indian, Dutee Chand, was third with a time of 23.60s.
14. Madhya Pradesh wins maiden Ranji Trophy title, beats Mumbai by six wickets in final
- Madhya Pradesh kept its date with the record books, winning its maiden Ranji Trophy title with a six-wicket victory over Mumbai.
- Madhya Pradesh now becomes the fourth first-time winner of the Ranji Trophy in the last five seasons – joining Gujarat, Vidarbha (two-time winners now) and Saurashtra.
- Mumbai made it to the Ranji Trophy final for a record 47 times.
- Mumbai (then Bombay) with 41 titles, holds the record of winning the most number of titles
15. Two Autonomous Electric Barges delivered to Norway-based ASKO Maritime AS by Cochin Shipyard
- The 67 meter long barges were delivered as Full Electric Transport Ferries powered by an 1846 kWh battery.
- It can transport 16 fully loaded Standard EU Trailers in one go across the fjords in Norway.
- ASKO project is an ambitious project in Norway, which is partially funded by the Norwegian government as a part of a green shipping programme aimed at emission-free transport.

- At the Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Paris the mixed team pair of Abhishek Verma and Jyothi Surekha won gold by defeating host nation France.
- Jyothi then added another silver medal to her name after losing the women’s compound individual final against UK’s Ella Gibson.
- Indian women’s recurve team of Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat & Simranjeet Kaur settled for a silver medal.
17. Navjeet Dhillon wins gold medal in discus throw at Qosanov Memorial 2022
- India’s female discus thrower Navjeet Dhillon clinched the gold medal at the Qosanov Memorial 2022 athletics meet in Kazakhstan.
- Navjeet, who is eyeing a place in the Indian contingent for Commonwealth Games, won the women’s discus throw event with a 56.24m effort.
18. Vijay Amritraj honoured with Golden Achievement Award by ITF and International Tennis Hall of Fame
- In recognition of his outstanding impact on the sport of tennis as a player, promoter, and humanitarian, India’s Vijay Amritraj has been named the 2021 recipient of the Golden Achievement Award.
- The Golden Achievement Award is presented annually by the International Tennis Hall of Fame and International Tennis Federation.
- Amritraj remains the highest-ranked ATP singles player from India in ATP history at no.16.
19. IAF conducts 1st Warfare & Aerospace Strategy Program’s capstone seminar
- The first Warfare & Aerospace Strategy Program was conducted by the Indian Air Force, with the capstone seminar held at the Air Force Auditorium in New Delhi (WASP).
- The College of Air Warfare and Centre for Air Power Studies supervised the seminar’s operation.
- The aim of WASP is to foster strategic thought and awareness among IAF personnel.

20. RBI extends card tokenisation deadline by 3 months
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced an extension of the deadline for card data storage and tokenisation implementation by another three months to September 30, 2022 from June 30, 2022.
- As part of this initiative, merchants and payment aggregators are required to delete all card details and replace them with tokens.
21. Bharat Electronics and Belarus firm signed MoU for the supply of Airborne Defense Suite
- Bengaluru-headquartered defence PSU, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Defense Initiatives (DI), Belarus, and Defense Initiatives Aero Pvt Ltd, India (a subsidiary of DI Belarus) to build cooperation amongst the three companies for the supply of Airborne Defense Suite (ADS) for Indian Air Force’s helicopters.
