1. CWG 2022: Indian wins one silver and two bronze medals on Day 4
- India grabbed two medals in Judo.
- Sushila Devi Likmabam won the silver medal in the Women’s 48 kg category, while In the men’s 60kg repechage, Vijay Kumar Yadav bagged the bronze medal.
- India’s Weightlifter Harjinder Kaur clinched the bronze medal in the Women’s 71 kg category.
- Squash player Sourav Ghosal advanced to the men’s singles semifinals.

2. India identifies 20 heritage sites for ‘national importance’ tag
- India has identified 20 heritage sites, including two ancient mounds at Haryana’s Rakhigarhi and the age-old Anangtal in Delhi, for the national importance tag.
- The other sites include rock painting at Chintakunta, Andhra Pradesh; rock art site Murgi at Rdanag, Leh; Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple, Kalesar (Manyala Panchayat), Himachal Pradesh.
3. Gross GST revenue collection jump to 28% to 1,48,995 Crores in July 2022
- Over 1,48,995 crore rupees gross GST revenue has been collected in July 2022.
- The Finance Ministry said, GST Revenue collection for July is the second highest ever and 28 per cent higher than the revenues in the same month last year.
- The government has settled 32 thousand 365 crore rupees to CGST and 26 thousand 774 crore rupees to SGST from IGST.

- SGST = State Goods and Services Tax.
4. India-Oman joint military exercise Al Najah-IV kicks off
- Joint military Exercise ‘Al Najah-IV’ between contingents of the Indian Army & the Royal Army of Oman started at the Foreign Training Node of Mahajan Field Firing Range in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
- The Royal Army of Oman contingent comprises 60 personnel from the Sultan of Oman Parachute Regiment, The Indian Army is represented by troops from the 18 Mechanised Infantry Battalion.
- The previous edition of exercise ‘Al Najah IV’ was organized at Muscat from 12 to 25 March 2019.

5. India signed bilateral air service agreements with 116 countries, international airfares may get cheaper
- The Indian government has activated bilateral air service agreements with 116 countries and is allowing foreign carriers to serve India to add more flights to the country’s metropolitan cities.
- The countries with which India has signed bilateral air service agreements include those in Asia, Europe, Middle East and South America.

6. SIDBI, SVC bank partner to empower MSMEs
- The SVC Co-operative Bank (SVC Bank) has entered into an agreement with the Small Industries Development Bank in India (SIDBI) to improve the flow of credit to the MSMEs.
- This is SIDBI’s first such agreement executed with a Urban Co-operative Bank (UCB).
- SIDBI will sign more such Agreements with other UCBs and RRBs across various States.

7. Number of airports nearly double to 141 since 2014, 3 new air operators certified: Scindia
- There are 141 operational airports in the country, which include eight heliports, and two waterdromes, while air operators certificate have been issued to three carriers – Jet Airways, Akasa Air and IndiaOne Air, the Union Civil Aviation Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia, said.
- According to him, there were 74 airports with scheduled operations in the country till 2014.
- The cumulative number of pilots licences issued by DGCA till date was 40,276.

9. RBI launches awareness campaign as unclaimed deposits increase:
- According to RBI norms, balances in savings/current accounts that are not operated for 10 years, or term deposits not claimed within 10 years from the date of maturity, are classified as “unclaimed deposits”.
- After this, banks transfer such money to the ‘depositor education and awareness fund’ maintained by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
- What is an unclaimed deposit in the bank?
- Unclaimed deposits are deposits where the proceeds / maturity amount has not been claimed for a period of 10 years or more.
10. HAL’s Director Finance C. B. Ananthakrishnan Gets Additional Charge of CMD, HAL
- C. B. Ananthakrishnan, Director (Finance) of HAL has taken over the additional charge of the post of Chairman and Managing Director today following the superannuation of Mr R. Madhavan as CMD HAL on July 31, 2022.
- Mr Ananthakrishnan will hold this post for a period of three months or till the post of CMD, HAL is vacant, whichever is earlier.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the IFSC Banking Unit (IBU) of Deutsche Bank AG at the Gujarat International Finance-Tec City (GIFT City) in Ahmedabad.
- The GIFT City IBU will enable the bank to provide liquidity in INR on a 24×7 basis to international investors and overseas corporates with exposures in India.

- The meeting will deliberate on the creation of an integrated procedure in order to bring homogeneity & synchronisation across DLSAs.

16. Zee Entertainment’s merger with Sony Pictures Networks, gets NSE & BSE approval
- The proposed merger with Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited (formerly Sony Pictures Networks India) has been approved by Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE), said a statement from Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL).
- Punit Goenka will lead the combined company as its Managing Director & CEO.
17. After PUBG, India blocks access to Krafton’s game BGMI
- Authorities in India have blocked Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), a popular battle-royale format game from South Korean company Krafton Inc using a law it invoked in 2020 to block Chinese apps in the country citing national security concerns.
- BGMI, which had over 100 million users in India, was removed from Alphabet Inc’s Google Play Store and Apple Inc’s app store.

19. 50 million EXIM containers handled under Logistic Data Bank project
- NLDSL – NICDC Logistics Data Bank’s (LDB) Project has achieved a milestone of handling 50 million EXIM containers since its inception six years ago.
