1. NPCI directs apps not to charge bill payment fees
- The National Payments Corporation of India has asked payment apps to stop charging a platform fee for payments enabled on the Bharat Bill Payment Platform.
- This is in light of the RBI coming out with a discussion paper on payment charges in the country.

2. Viktor Axelsen, Akane Yamaguchi clinch BWF World Championships singles title
- World number one shuttler Viktor Axelsen clinched his second BWF World Championships title after beating Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn in Tokyo.
- The women’s singles title has been retained by Japan’s reigning champion Akane Yamaguchi.
- In the men’s singles final, reigning Axelsen prevailed over Denmark’s Vitidsarn.

3. National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority to celebrate Silver Jubilee on 29th August
- National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority, NPPA will celebrate its Silver Jubilee in New Delhi.
- Mansukh Mandaviya will launch Integrated Pharmaceutical Database Management System 2.0, an integrated responsive cloud-based application.

4. Centre notifies new regulations for Battery Waste Management to promote circular economy
- The Government has notified new rules for environmentally sound management of waste batteries.
- The rules cover all types of batteries such as electric vehicle batteries, portable batteries, automotive and industrial batteries.
- The New rules, published by the Environment Ministry on 24 August), will replace Batteries (Management and Handling) Rules, 2001.
5. 2050 net-zero target can boost India’s GDP by 7.3% till 2032, says report
- Achieving net zero emissions by 2070 could boost India’s economy by as much as 4.7 per cent above the projected baseline growth in GDP terms by 2036 — worth a total of USD 371 billion, illustrates modelling and research commissioned by the High-level Policy Commission on Getting Asia to Net Zero.
- Households could save as much as USD 9.7 billion in energy costs by 2060.
6. Inoxcva despatches ‘largest’ made in India liquid hydrogen tank to South Korea
- Cryogenic equipment and solutions provider INOXCVA flagged-off India’s largest-ever made bulk Liquid Hydrogen Storage Tank.
- The tank with a storage capacity of 238 cubic metres was flagged off from the company’s Kandla facility to South Korea, for installation at a hydrogen liquefaction plant by Doosan Corporation.
7. NMDFC signs pact with ICICI Bank for development of banking software, app
- The National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) signed an agreement with ICICI Bank for the development of financial accounting software and mobile applications.
- ICICI Bank will design, develop and deploy the application for NMDFC, and provide source code and executable database information among others.

- NITI Aayog is keen to replicate the J&K model of Atal Tinkering Lab to the rest of the country on a 50:50 cost sharing basis.

- PM Modi will inaugurate Smritivan at Bhuj in Kutch region of Gujarat on August 28th.
- Smritivan celebrates the spirit of resilience shown by the people of Gujarat following the 2001 earthquake.
- Bhuj was the epicentre of the high-magnitude earthquake.

- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced providing Rs 25 crore under the NABARD’s rural infrastructure development fund to UAS for establishment of incubation centre for processing and value addition for promotion of millets.

18. Inauguration of Taurus Sainik Aramgrah, a first of its kind facility by Indian Army in collaboration with DMRC.
- Lt Gen Nav K Khanduri inaugurated the Taurus Sainik Aramgrah at Delhi Cantt.
- The facility is constructed by the Indian Army in collaboration with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as an Equal Value Infrastructure Project.
- It is constructed primarily to ensure comfortable stay of serving/retired defence personnel including their dependents who come to Delhi for medical treatment.
