1. India’s First indigenous aircraft carrier Vikrant handed over to Indian Navy
- Maritime history was created with the Indian Navy taking delivery of the prestigious Indigenous Aircraft Carrier Vikrant, built by the Cochin Shipyard.
- The Commanding Officer Designate of Vikrant, Commodore Vidyadhar Harke and the Chairman and Managing Director of Cochin Shipyard Madhu S Nair signed the documents relating to the delivery of the vessel.

- The Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare launched the country’s 11th Agri Census.

4. Asia Cup 2022 shifted from Sri Lanka to the United Arab Emirates

5. Cabinet approves additional investment by Bharat PetroResources Ltd. a wholly owned subsidiary of BPCL
- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved additional investment of USD 1,600 million (about Rs. 12,000 crore) by Bharat PetroResources Ltd. (BPRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for development of BM-SEAL-11 Concession Project in Brazil.
6. EAM Jaishankar to pay 2-day visit to Uzbekistan to attend SCO meet
- External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar will travel to the Uzbek capital Tashkent on a two-day (July 28-29) visit to attend a foreign ministerial conclave of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and their Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto are also expected to attend the SCO meet.

7. Egypt and India sign MoU to build a green hydrogen factory worth $8 bln
- India and Egypt have signed an MoU to set up a green hydrogen plant with investments of $8 billion and a capacity of 220,000 tonnes annually in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
- ReNew will set up a plant in Egypt with a capacity to produce 20,000 tonne green hydrogen a year, which will later be raised to 220,000 tonne, by relying on renewable energy sources.

- The Reserve Bank of India’s composite Digital Payments Index (RBI-DPI) has risen to 349.30 in March 2022 against 270.59 in March 2021, indicating rapid adoption and deepening of digital payments across the country.
- It was constructed with March 2018 as the base period–DPI score for March 2018 is set at 100.

- Roshni Nadar Malhotra, chairperson of Indian tech giant HCL Technologies Limited, is the richest woman in the country for the second year in a row with a wealth of ₹84,330 crore, according to the ‘Leading Wealthy Women 2021’ report published by Hurun India and Kotak Bank.
- The position of the second richest woman in India is secured by Nykaa founder and CEO Falguni Nayar.
10. 2022 Commonwealth Games | Sindhu and Manpreet Singh to be India’s flag-bearers in opening ceremony
- India’s flag bearers for the Commonwealth Games 2022 opening ceremony, which will take place on July 28 at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, will be PV Sindhu, India’s badminton star, and Manpreet Singh, the captain of the Indian men’s hockey team.

15. The ‘Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme’ at 1,545 government primary schools in Tamil Nadu
- The Tamil Nadu government has issued an order to implement the first phase of the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme at 1,545 government primary schools for the benefit of over 1.14 lakh children in Classes I-V during 2022-23.
- The cost would be Rs. 33.56 crore.
