1. India & Australia inked an economic cooperation and trade agreement (ECTA)
- India & Australia inked an economic cooperation and trade agreement, under which Canberra will provide duty-free access in its market for over 95 % tariff lines, including textiles, leather, furniture, jewellery, machinery, and select medical devices.
- This is the first trade agreement that India has signed with a developed economy after more than a decade.
- Australia is the 17th largest trading partner of India.
2. Andhra Pradesh’s First ‘She Auto’ Stands Set Up In Tirupati
- In a move to provide safe transport to women and girl students, the police in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor have set up three ‘She Auto’ stands, the first of its kind in the state.
- The three ‘She Auto’ stands have been set up in RTC Bus Stand, Mahila University, and Ruia Hospital in Tirupati.
3. NCW Launches Anti-Human Trafficking Cell
- The National Commission for Women launched an Anti-Human Trafficking Cell to improve effectiveness in tackling cases of human trafficking, raising awareness among women and girls, capacity building and training Anti Trafficking Units, and increasing the responsiveness of law enforcement agencies.
4. Army Dedicates First Floating Hamlet On Srinagar’s Dal Lake To Citizens
- The Army dedicated the soft launch of Kashmir’s first floating hamlet on the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
- The soft launch of Kachri Mohalla as a sample tourist floating village was done by General Officer Commanding, Chinar Corps, Lieutenant General D P Pandey, and Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole.
5. Governor of Karnataka and Union Sports Minister launched logo, mascot jersey & anthem of Khelo India University Games 2021
- Governor of Karnataka and Union Sports Minister launched the logo, mascot jersey & anthem of Khelo India University Games 2021 in Bengaluru.
- The event, postponed due to the ongoing Covid crisis last year, will be the second edition of KIUG after Odisha hosts the Khelo India University Games in 2020.
- A Khelo India App for live updates on the Games was also launched by Karnataka.
6. India-Seychelles Joint Military Exercise Lamitiye Concludes At Seychelles
- The 9th edition of India – Seychelles Joint Training Exercise LAMITIYE-2022, which commenced on March 22 at Seychelles Defence Academy, Seychelles culminated with 48 hours of validation exercise.
- The themes chosen for the Joint Training Exercise were both relevant and contemporary for the planning and execution of operations based on scenarios in a Semi-Urban environment.
7. CJI launched software ‘FASTER’ to transmit court orders swiftly
- Chief Justice of India NV Ramana launched the ‘Fast and Secured Transmission of Electronic Records’, a digital platform to communicate interim orders, stay orders, bail orders etc of the apex court to the concerned authorities through a secured electronic communication channel.
- ‘FASTER’ system has been developed on a war-footing by the Registry in collaboration with NIC.
8. Dr. S Raju has taken over as the Director General of Geological Survey of India
- S Raju has taken over as the Director-General of the Geological Survey of India (GSI) in Kolkata.
- He succeeds Shri R. S. Garkhal who superannuated on 31st March 2022.
- Prior to assuming the present post Dr. Raju was holding the post of Additional Director General and National Head, Mission-III & IV at GSI HQ.
9. IREDA finances Blusmart Mobility Rs. 268 crores to purchase 3000 electric cars
- In a bid to promote electric vehicles in the Delhi-NCR region, Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. sanctioned a loan of Rs. 267.67 crores to BluSmart Mobility for the purchase of 3,000 all-electric cars.
- It is the largest lender of the Renewable Energy sector in India.
- From the sanctioned loan of Rs. 267.67 crores, the first tranche of Rs. 35.70 has been disbursed.
- IREDA is a Mini Ratna (Category– I) Government of India Enterprise.
10. IFSCA inks MoU with IRDAI
- International Financial Services Centers Authority and Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India have signed an MoU.
- This MoU focuses on the strengthening inter-regulatory exchange of information, technical cooperation, and supervisory collaboration and opens avenues towards developing innovative insurance solutions for the evolving global trends.
11. JICA signs a loan of ₹680 cr. for biodiversity project
- Japan International Cooperation Agency has signed a loan agreement to provide a Japanese Official Development Assistance loan, amounting to approximately ₹680 crores for the Tamil Nadu Biodiversity Conservation and Greening Project for Climate Change Response.
- The loan is said to help improve the ecosystem, which will in turn help in the State’s socio-economic development.
12. Andhra Pradesh launches Talli-Bidda express
- Andhra Pradesh launched YSR Talli-Bidda express, a dedicated transportation facility for new mothers who deliver at Government hospitals.
- The government was revamping the medical and health department under nadu – nedu.
- Facilities and services were being improved.
- Medicines were being supplied as per WHO and GMP standards in the government hospitals.
- The service is coordinated by a 102 / 108 call center which operates 24X7.
13. Aamir Khan appointed as PharmEasy’s brand ambassador
- Digital healthcare platform PharmEasy has roped in filmstar Aamir Khan as its brand ambassador.
- Owned by API Holdings Limited, Pharmeasy hit the deadlines last year when its parent company bought out the promoter of diagnostic chain Thyrocare in a ₹4,546 crore deal.
