1. Commonwealth Games 2022: India bags historic gold in women’s four lawn bowl event
- Lovely Choubey, Pinki, Nayanmoni Saikia and Rupa Rani Tirkey secured India’s first-ever medal in lawn balls by winning the gold in the Women’s Fours event.
- The Indian men’s table tennis team retained its Commonwealth Games title with a convincing 3-1 win over Singapore in the final.
- Sharath Kamal, the 40-year-old veteran, has been involved in each of the 5 men’s gold medals.
2. India and Maldives sign six agreements following talks between PM Narendra Modi and Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih
- Both sides reviewed bilateral ties and discussed ways to strengthen linkages in areas of development partnership, trade, connectivity and P2P ties, among others.
- Six agreements were exchanged following the delegation level talks yesterday in areas including cyber security, disaster management, and infrastructure.

3. Indian Oil inked MoU with NTCA for transcontinental relocation of ‘cheetah’ in its historical range in India
- Indian Oil signed an MoU with National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) for transcontinental relocation of the ‘Cheetah’ in its historical range in India.
- Indian Oil is the first corporate which has come forward to support “Project Cheetah” under CSR, as the project has not only national importance but is also essential for balancing the ecosystem.
- The Minister for Environment & Forests is the current Chairperson of the NTCA.

4. Lok Sabha passes Wild Life (Protection) Amendment Bill, 2021
- The Lok Sabha today passed the Wild Life (Protection) Amendment Bill, 2021, seeking to increase the species protected under the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972, and implement the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, CITES.
- In the last eight years protected areas in the country have increased from 693 to 987.
5. RBI allowed invoicing and payments for international trade in Indian Rupee
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has allowed invoicing and payments for international trade in Indian Rupee vide A.P (DIR Series).
- The approval process is that for opening of Special INR Vostro accounts, banks of partner countries may approach Authorised Dealer (AD) banks in India which may seek approval from RBI with details of the arrangement.
6. SEBI imposes a penalty of Rs 3 lakh on BSE
- The market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has imposed a fine of Rs 3 lakh on BSE for engaging in activities unrelated to a stock exchange.
- The market regulator observed that BSE had acquired stakes in various businesses without taking requisite approvals from SEBI.
- In pursuant to Regulation 30 read with Schedule Ill of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, we intimate that SEBI has passed an Order dated July 29, 2022 imposing a penalty of Rs. 3 lakhs on BSE Limited.
7. Director General of SSB takes additional charge of ITBP
- Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Dr. Sujoy Lal Thaosen today took over the additional charge of Director General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in New Delhi.
- Thaosen is an IPS Officer of the 1988 batch, Madhya Pradesh Cadre.
- IPS Sanjay Arora handed over the charge and customary baton to Dr. Thaosen.
- Raised in 1962, the ITBP guards Indo-China borders.
8. Andhra Pradesh tops in Utilisation of Agriculture Infrastructure funds
- Union Agriculture and Family Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar presented the award for the best state in the country in utilisation of Agri Funds in the financial year 2021-22.
- Andhra Pradesh ranks first in utilisation of agricultural infrastructure funds (Agri Infra Fund).

- In a historic move, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on July 28, 2022, adopted a resolution recognising the right to a healthy environment for all.
- It said the move is an important step in countering the alarming decline of the natural world.

10. India’s power consumption grows 3.8 pc to 128.38 bn units in July
- India’s power consumption grew marginally by 3.8 per cent year-on-year to 128.38 billion units (BU) in July amid widespread rains in the country, according to power ministry data.
- Power consumption in July last year was recorded at 123.72 BU, which was higher than 112.14 BU in the same month of 2020.
- The peak power supply stood at 200.53 GW in July 2021.
- BU means billion units, equal to terawatt hour (TWh), a unit of energy used in India.
11. India to be part of 17-nation ‘Pitch Black’ exercise in Australia
- India will be part of a mega air combat exercise in Australia this month that is set to witness the participation of around 100 aircraft and 2,500 military personnel from 17 countries.
- India’s participation in the exercise, “Pitch Black”.
- The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) considers “Pitch Black” as its “capstone” international engagement activity.

13. Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu presents President’s Colours to Tamil Nadu police
- Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu presented the prestigious President’s Colours to the Tamil Nadu police and said it is a recognition of the State police’s commendable service and many achievements.

15. Reliance Jio gets ready to roll-out 5G Network across India
- Jio, India’s largest digital services provider, today acquired spectrum in the 700MHz, 800MHz, 1800MHz, 3300MHz and 26GHz bands in the auctions conducted by the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India.
- Total cost of acquiring the right to use the above technology agnostic spectrum for a period of 20 years is Rs. 88,078 crore.

16. Indian stealth frigate carries out military drills with French warships in North Atlantic Ocean
- Indian stealth frigate INS Tarkash conducted a maritime partnership exercise (MPX) with French warships in the North Atlantic Ocean last week.
- INS Tarkash carried out various drills with French fleet tanker FS Somme, followed by joint air operations with maritime surveillance aircraft Falcon 50.
- In March, the Indian and French navies carried out a five-day mega wargame.
17. Govt eases Malonylurea (Barbituric Acid) & salts import policy
- The government eased the policy for import of compounds containing a pyrimidine ring or piperazine ring in the structure : Malonylurea (Barbituric Acid) and its salts.
- India imported $8.09 million of Malonylurea (Barbituric Acid) and its salts in FY22 and $1.9 million in April-May 2022-23.
