- Air Marshal Sanjeev Kapoor took charge as Director General (Inspection and Safety) [DG(I&S)] of the Indian Air Force at New Delhi.

5. State of the World’s Forests 2022: 10% of total forest area on Earth lost in 30 years
- The world has lost 420 million hectares (mha), approximately 10.34 per cent of its total forest area in the last 30 years, according to the 2022 edition of The State of the World’s Forests (SOFO).
- The 420 mha of forests have been lost between 1990 and 2020, due to deforestation, though forests cover 4.06 billion ha (31 per cent) of the earth’s geographical area.
6. Crypto investors’ profit jumps 5 times to $162.7 billion in 2021: Report
- Investors in crypto assets around the world realized total gains of $162.7 billion in 2021, compared with just $32.5 billion in 2020, according to a report by blockchain data platform Chainalysis.
- The year 2021 was a bumper phase for crypto assets with prices of bitcoin jumping 64% during the year, while ethereum spiked 393%.
7. Delimitation Commission on J&K submits report: 43 Assembly seats for Jammu, Kashmir to have 47
- According to the report, the commission has recommended increasing the number of Assembly seats.
- For Kashmir, it has been suggested to increase the seats from 46 to 47, while the Jammu region will have 43 seats instead of 37.
- Now, J&K will have 90 Assembly seats.
- The Delimitation Commission on Jammu and Kashmir was established on March 6, 2020.
- The Delimitation Commission was headed by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai.

- The Coast Guard has commissioned its second air squadron, 845 Squadron (CG), of Advanced Light Helicopter Mk-III at an event held at the Coast Guard air enclave, Nedumbassery.

- The first ALH Mk-III squadron of the Coast Guard is in Bhubaneswar.

- India Meteorological Department has signed an agreement with IIT Bombay to work together for developing climate solutions for the stakeholders at village, city, and district levels through user-friendly weather forecasting applications.
