Educational Qualification of SECR 2024:
Candidates should have successfully finished the 10th-grade examination following the 10+2 system or its equivalent. Additionally, they should possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade.
Age Limit:
Applicants must be at least 15 years old to be eligible, while the maximum age allowed is 24 years. Candidates should not have reached this age to meet the criteria. Age relaxation benefits apply to candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories as per the specified rules.
Training Period and Stipend:
The chosen individuals will be hired as apprentices and will go through a one-year training program in their specific trades. During their training, they will receive a stipend based on the regulations set by the Railway Board. Once they finish their apprenticeship, their training will come to an end.
Selection Criteria for Merit List Preparation:
The selection merit list is created by evaluating certain criteria. This includes averaging the marks obtained by candidates in their Matriculation (with at least 50% aggregate marks) and ITI exams. Both exams are equally important as per the Railway Establishment Rule 201/2017.
Medical Examination:
Chosen applicants might need to complete a medical check-up before confirming their selection. They must carry a medical certificate following the format specified in the Apprenticeship Act 1961 and Para 4 of the Apprenticeship Rule 1992 (as revised). The certificate has to be endorsed by a Government-authorized Doctor (GAZ), holding a rank not lower than Assistant Surgeon at a Central/State Hospital.
Contractual Obligations:
Upon selection, candidates, or their guardians if they are minors, must enter into an apprenticeship contract with the employer.
