1. Indian Coast Guard Day 2022
- Indian Coast Guard Day is celebrated every year on 1st February.
- This year, India will be observing the 46th IndianCoast Guard Day.
- On 18 August 1978, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Day was enacted by the Parliament of India.
- Since its inception, the ICG has saved more than 10,000 lives and apprehended around 14,000 miscreants.
- Currently, Indian Coast Guard has 156 ships and 62 aircraft.
- The organisation is planning to make 200 ships and 100 twin-engined aircraft by 2025.
2. All 695 Railway Hospitals Integrated With Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission
- The Indian Railways integrated its 695 hospitals and care centres with the ‘Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission’ (ABDM), according to the Union Health Ministry.
- This was done under RailTel’s collaboration with the National Health Authority (NHA), which aims to create a National Digital Health Eco-system by implementing the ABDM.
3. PM Modi to address 30th Foundation Day of National Commission for Women
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 30th Foundation Day programme of National Commission for Women (NCW).
- The theme of the programme is ‘She The Change Maker’, aimed at celebrating the achievements of women in different fields.
- The State Commissions for Women and Department of Women and Child Development in State Governments participated in the event.
- Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani was present on the occasion.

- Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has become the first Indian sports enterprise to gain unicorn status with its market cap surpassing INR 7,600 crore and the share value in the market trading entering INR 210-225 price band.

- Teenage badminton sensation Unnati Hooda became the youngest Indian to win a Super 100 tournament by bagging the Odisha Open 2022 title.
- Putting on a deft performance, the 14-year-old from Rohtak, Haryana showed some great skills with the racquet to claim a straight games victory, 21-18, 21-11 against fellow Indian compatriot, Smit Toshniwal.

- Indian Grandmaster Vidit Gujrathi lost to Shakhriyar Mamedyarov of Azerbaijan in the 12th and penultimate round of the Tata Steel Masters chess here to jointly occupy the sixth place.
- World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen clinched his eighth title in Wijk aan Zee after beating Fabiano Caruana in round 12.
8. Australian Open 2022: Ashleigh Barty becomes 1st Aussie woman to win home Grand Slam in 44 years
- Ash Barty ended Australia’s 44-year wait for a home winner at the Australian Open when the world number one staved off a fightback from American Danielle Collins to complete a 6-3 7-6(2) win on January 29 and pick up her third Grand Slam title.
- Barty became the first Australian to win the event since Chris O’Neil captured the women’s title in 1978.
9. Exports of electronic goods register 49 percent surge between April and December 2021: Govt
- The Commerce and Industry Ministry said that electronic goods export has registered a tremendous growth of 49% between April to December 2021.
- During the same period in 2020, 7.4 billion US dollars worth of electronic goods were exported while in 2021, electronic items worth 11 billion were exported.
- Maximum 18% of electronic goods items were exported to the USA followed by the UAE.
10. Maharashtra has highest number of SC entrepreneurs
- Maharashtra tops India’s list in the number of MSMEs owned by entrepreneurs from the Scheduled Castes with as many as 96,805 enterprises.
- Tamil Nadu with 42,997 enterprises & Rajasthan with 38,517 units occupy the second and third slots, according to the data furnished by the Office of the Development Commissioner in the Union Ministry of MSME.
- The fourth, fifth and sixth slots belong to Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Punjab.
11. SBI lists maiden issue of $300 million Formosa bonds on India INX
- SBI has issued $300 million Formosa bonds and listed the issuance on India INX GIFT IFSC.
- This is the first such issuance by any Indian Bank in the Formosa Bond market.
- SBI through its London branch raised $300 million from Regulation S Formosa bonds at a coupon of 2.49 per cent.
- Formosa bond is a bond issued in Taiwan.
- SBI is the first Indian entity to raise money through Formosa Bond
12. “The $10 Trillion Dream” debut book by former finance secretary Subhash Chandra Garg
- “The $10 Trillion Dream” claims to explore the critical policy issues that India faces today and suggests reforms for it to become a USD 10 trillion economy by the mid-2030s.
- The book, scheduled to release towards the end of next month, is published by Penguin Random House India (PRHI).

14. Parliament launches Digital Sansad App to make live proceedings accessible to citizens.
- The app will also allow citizens to check what their members of Parliament are doing, what debates they are participating in and what they are saying.
- It will also contain members’ speeches and participation in all proceedings including budget sessions etc, from 1947 onwards.
- The archive will be from the 12th to the 17th Lok Sabha session.
- Apart from a virtual tour of Parliament, the 2022 Budget Session can also be watched live.
15. Netherlands unveils ‘world’s-largest’ canal lock
- Dutch King Willen-Alexander opened what authorities say is the world’s largest canal lock.
- The 500 meter (1,640-feet) long and 70 meter wide sluice replaces a smaller, nearly 100-year-old one at Ijmuiden, a small port city connecting the North Sea Canal to the port of Amsterdam.
- The Ijmuiden lock was designed to allow large, modern cargo ships to reach the port of Amsterdam
