1. PM Modi to deliver inaugural address at Energy and Resources Institute’s (TERI) World Sustainable Development Summit
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver the inaugural address at the Energy and Resources Institute’s (TERI) World Sustainable Development Summit.
- The summit is TERI’s annual flagship event and the theme for this year is ‘Towards a Resilient Planet: Ensuring a Sustainable and Equitable Future’.
- The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is a research institute in New Delhi.
2. Ex-Turkish Airlines head Mehmet Ilker Ayci appointed as the new CEO and MD of Air India
- Former chairman of Turkish Airlines Ilker Ayci has been appointed Air India’s new CEO and MD.
- The erstwhile national carriers new owners the Tata Group.
- Ilker is an aviation industry leader who led Turkish Airlines to its current success.
- Ayci’s appointment would be subject to regulatory approvals.

4. Reliance Jio partners with SES to announce satellite-based internet for India
- Reliance Jio has partnered with SES, a Luxembourg-based satellite solutions provider to form a new initiative – Jio Space Technology Limited.
- The joint venture is aimed at delivering the next generation scalable and affordable broadband services in India by making use of satellite technology.
- Jio and SES will own 51 percent and 49 percent each in the equity stake.
5. Vedanta And Foxconn Sign MOU For Manufacturing Semiconductors In India
- Vedanta, one of India’s leading multinational groups, and Hon Hai Technology Group (“Foxconn”), world’s largest electronics manufacturing company, announced signing an MOU to form a joint venture company that will manufacture semiconductors in India.
- According to the MOU signed between the two companies, Vedanta will hold the majority of the equity in the joint venture.
6. Private sector lender Yes Bank launches ‘Agri Infinity program’
- Yes Bank has announced the launch of an annual startup enabler program that seeks to co-develop digital financial solutions for the food & agriculture ecosystem by mentoring entrepreneurial ventures in the sector.
- Called Yes Bank Agri Infinity, a select cohort of startups will receive mentoring by veteran bankers for experiential co-development.
- Also get access to the lender’s digital banking infrastructure and network.
7. One Ocean Summit: UNESCO pledges to have at least 80% of the seabed mapped by 2030
- On the occasion of the One Ocean Summit taking place in the French city of Brest, UNESCO has announced that at least 80% of the seabed will be mapped by 2030, compared to 20% currently, with the support of its Member States & the private sector.
- In 2017, UNESCO joined forces with the Nippon Foundation, Japan’s largest private foundation to launch the Seabed 2030 programme.

- Israel becomes the first-ever country to allow drones in civilian airspace.
- Referring to this, the Israel’s Ministry of Transport and Road Safety recently announced the country’s first certification for unmanned aircraft vehicles (UAVs) to operate in civilian airspace.
- Hermes Starliner can fly for up to 36 hours at an altitude of around 7600 m.

9. NABARD Introduces ‘JIVA’ to Promote Natural Farming
- The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) launched the JIVA agroecology-based program.
- It will promote natural farming through its existing watershed and wadi programs in 11 states.
- The JIVA initiative will be implemented in 25 projects, covering five agro-ecological zones.
