1. Interest subsidy scheme for exporters extended till March 2024: RBI
- The Reserve Bank of India extended the interest equalisation scheme for pre and post shipment rupee credit for MSME exporters till March 2024 with the objective of boosting outbound shipments.
- Exporters get subsidy under the ‘Interest Equalisation Scheme’ for pre and post-shipment Rupee Export Credit.
- In April last year, the scheme was first extended till June end and later till September.
2. NSE Chief Vikram Limaye To Not Seek Second Term
- Vikram Limaye will not seek an extension as the chief of the nation’s largest bourse, which is being probed for governance standards during the term of his predecessor.
- Limaye took charge in 2017 after Ramkrishna stepped down following a whistleblower complaint to SEBI alleging unfair access to the NSE’s co-location facility.
3. Bangladeshi environmental lawyer Rizwana Hasan to get US International Women of Courage Award for 2022
- A Bangladeshi environmental lawyer Rizwana Hasan has been selected for the International Women of Courage (IWOC) Award for 2022.
- She is among the 12 women from around the world who will be honoured by the US Department of State with the award for showing exceptional courage and leadership to make a difference in their communities.
4. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Launches Instant Payment System “UPI 123PAY”, Helpline For DigiSaathi
- RBI and the National Payment Corporation of India launched UPI 123Pay today, i.e., UPI for features phones which allows one to make payments without the internet.
- UPI for feature phones, i.e., UPI123Pay is a 3-step process – call, choose and pay.
- Users can visit digisaathi.info or call on 14431 and 1800 891 3333 for their queries on digital payments and grievances.
5. Olympic champion Duplantis sets pole vault world record of 6.19m in Belgrade
- Sweden’s Olympic pole vault champion Armand Gustav “Mondo” Duplantis cleared 19m to smash his own world record by one centimetre at the World Indoor Tour Silver meeting in Belgrade.
- Duplantis set the record of 6.18 in February 2020 indoors in Glasgow.
- This is the fourth world record of 22-year-old Duplantis’s career.

7. SEBI Increases Public Debt Investment Limit Through UPI To Rs 5 Lakhs
- The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) increased the investment limit for payments through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) mechanism for retail investors buying debt securities in public issues to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 2 lakh currently to make investments more accessible.
8. Russia Is Now the World’s Most-Sanctioned Nation
- Due to its war on Ukraine, Russia has become the most sanctioned in the world, according to a New York-based sanctions watchlist site.
- Castellum AI said that sanctions were first imposed by the US and its allies on Russia on February 22 a day after President Vladimir Putin declared the two Ukrainian rebel regions of Donetsk and Luhansk as “independent states”.
9. ISSF WC 2022: India top medal tally with 4 gold, 2 silver, one bronze in Cairo
- India has taken first place in the medal standing in International Shooting Sport Federation, ISSF World Cup 2022 in Cairo.
- The Indian team finished on the top of the medals tally with a total of seven medals comprising four gold, two silver and one bronze.
- Norway, who won six medals- three gold, one silver and two bronze claimed second spot on the medals tally.
- France were third, with three golds out of the 20 on offer.
10. SBI appoints ex-Ujjivan Small Finance Bank CEO Nitin Chugh as Deputy Managing Director
- State Bank of India (SBI) has appointed former Ujjivan Small Finance Bank CEO Nitin Chugh as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) to drive digital banking operations.
- He has been appointed to SBI for an initial term of three years.
- Chugh, who joined Ujjivan Small Finance Bank in 2019, quit the bank in September last year citing personal reasons.
11. Banks Board Bureau (BBB) launches programme for improving quality of PSU bank boards
- The nine-month Directors’ Development Programme (DDP) is designed for the directors of the PSBs and financial institutions with the key objective of enhancing director effectiveness to increase their impact on the boards.
- The programme designed in collaboration with IBA and others will help empower and enrich the board critical for the decision making.

12. CISF celebrated its 53rd Raising Day
- Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the 53rd Raising Day celebrations of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in Ghaziabad.

16. DMRC, CPWD sign pact for Central Vista ‘Metro loop’
- The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) signed an MoU under which the former will provide technical assistance and execute finishing and service works for construction of a loop corridor connecting the existing Metro network with the new Central Secretariat buildings coming up as part of the Central Vista revamp project.
