1. Creation of Record for Highest Quantity of Bituminous Mix laid for road construction in 100 Hrs.
- Union Minister for Road Transport and highways Shri Nitin Gadkari informed that the longest Length of Flexible Pavement (DBM Course) road construction in 100 Hrs was awarded to PNC Infratech Ltd.
- India Book of Records have awarded certificates in respect of creation of record for Highest Quantity of Bituminous Mix laid for road construction in 100 Hrs.
2. Jubilant FoodWorks CEO Pratik Pota resigns
- The board of directors of Jubilant FoodWorks in their meeting held on March 11, 2022, accepted the resignation of Pratik Rashmikant Pota as the CEO and whole-time director of the company as he wishes to pursue opportunities outside Jubilant FoodWorks, the company said in a statement.
- Pota will continue in his current role till June 15.
3. Dr. Ranjit Rath appointed as CMD of Oil India
- Government headhunter PESB has picked Ranjit Rath to head India’s second largest state oil and gas producer, Oil India Ltd.
- He is currently chairman and managing director of Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd (MECL).
- Oil India’s current chairman and managing director Sushil Chandra Mishra will superannuate on June 30 this year.

4. Tripura govt announces Rs 85 crore scheme for tea workers
- In an attempt to ensure social security of over 7,000 tea garden workers of Tripura, the state government has announced a special scheme named “Mukhyamantri Chaa Srami Kalyan Prakalpa”.
- The scheme assures housing, rations and financial support to the tea garden workers providing them with facilities of state and central government entitlements in a clubbed format.

7. UCO Bank to acquire 3% stake in debt resolution company IDRCL
- UCO Bank has entered into an agreement to acquire a 3 percent stake in India Debt Resolution Company Ltd (IDRCL) for Rs 1.50 crore.
- UCO Bank became one of the stakeholders of IDRCL.
- The state-owned lender further said the acquisition will be completed within 10 working days from the day of the agreement.
8. Indian GM S L Narayanan wins Cattolica International Open chess tournament in Italy
- Indian Grandmaster S. L. Narayanan emerged winner in the Grandiscacchi Cattolica International Open while his compatriot R Praggnanandhaa finished runner-up.
- Narayanan and six others, including Praggnanandhaa, finished equal first on 6.5 points after nine rounds.
- However, Narayanan took the top spot on the basis of a better tie-break score.
9. Shri Bhupender Yadav Presents Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar , National Safety Awards And National Safety Awards Mines
- Shri Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Environment, Forest and Climate Change presented Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar (VRP), National Safety Awards (NSA) for the performance year 2018 and National Safety Awards (Mines) [NSA (Mines)] for the contest years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
- The Ministry of Labour & Employment, has been operating the VRP and NSA since 1965 and NSA (Mines) since 1983.
10. L&T launches SuFin, a B2B E-Commerce platform for MSMEs
- Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has launched an e-commerce platform called L&T-SuFin.
- It is the country’s first integrated e-commerce platform for business to business industrial products and services.
- The transaction fee of the platform is around 1.5%.
- The platform will have all types of construction and industrial products.
11. J&K Bank wins National Award for SHG Bank Linkage, commissions 4 Business Units
- In recognition of its best performance in Self Help Group Bank Linkage, the Ministry of Rural Development (GoI) has awarded J&K Bank with ‘National Award for Outstanding Performance for FY 2020-21’.
- Zonal Head Delhi Kirti Sharma received the national award on behalf of the Bank.
- J&K Bank has expanded its footprint by commissioning four Business Units (BUs) in the Kashmir valley.
12. India’s gold imports bounced back to 1,067 tonnes in 2021: Gem Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC)
- India’s gold imports bounced back to 1,067.72 tonnes in 2021 from 430.11 tonnes during 2020 when the demand was hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- The gold imports in 2021 were up by 27.66 % from 836.38 tonnes during 2019.
- Along with China, India is by far the world’s largest importer and consumer of gold.
13. Tamilnadu Petroproducts Becomes the World’s First LAB Manufacturer Accredited with the BIS 12795 2020 Certification
- Tamilnadu Petroproducts Ltd. (TPL) became the first linear alkylbenzene (LAB) manufacturing company in the world to be granted Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification.
- TPL’s ‘Superlab’ brand is among the most trusted LAB brands in the country today.
- LAB has application in the production of biodegradable detergent.
14. Former Revenue Secretary AB Pandey appointed as NFRA Chairperson
- The government has appointed former finance secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey as chairman of the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) for a period of three years.
- Pandey, a 1984-batch Maharashtra cadre IAS officer, retired as revenue secretary in February last year.
- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment.
