1. GST collections hit all-time high of ₹1.42Lcr in March
- The gross collection of goods and service tax (GST) soared to an all-time high of over Rs 1.42 lakh crore in March aided by the rationalization of rates and aggressive anti-evasion measures.
- GST cess collections amounted to Rs 9,417 crore (including Rs 981 crore collected on import of goods).
2. Pixxel launches its first satellite aboard SpaceX
- Indian space-tech startup Pixxel has launched its first satellite, part of its eventual 36-satellite planned constellation, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rideshare mission.
- The satellite was incidentally the second that Pixxel built, and is a part of the first three technology demonstration satellites in its constellation.
- Pixxel will look to complete six launches in the first quarter of 2023.

- The deadline to ban the pooling of money and mutual fund units was extended to July 1 by SEBI.
- As a result, Online platforms and brokers will get some more time to comply with the new Sebi guidelines on the pooling of money and mutual fund units.
- Earlier, Sebi asked these entities to stop pooling money and mutual funds units from April 1.
4. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai sets up ‘Nandini Ksheera Samridhi Sahakara Bank’ to help milk producers
- The CM was speaking after releasing the logo of the Nandini Ksheera Samridhi Sahakara Bank at a programme in which UM for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah too participated.
- The State government provided Rs. 100 crore as its share capital and the Milk Federation and Cooperatives would contribute Rs. 260 crore as their share of capital for the proposed cooperative bank.
5. India Ratings slashes India’s FY23 GDP forecast to 7%-7.2% from 7.6%
- India Ratings cut its real GDP growth forecast for FY23 to 7-7.2 percent from 7.6 percent seen earlier, on the back of higher commodity prices due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
- Ind-Ra’s India GDP forecast cut comes a day after ICRA Ltd cut its FY23 growth forecast to 7.2 percent from 8 percent.
6. Amazon India, SUN Mobility to expand deployment of EVs with battery swapping tech
- Amazon India and SUN Mobility announced that they are working together to expand the deployment of EVs integrated with battery swapping technology for its transportation and logistics services.
- These EVs will contribute to Amazon India’s commitment to adding 10,000 electric vehicles to its India delivery fleet by 2025, announced in 2020.
7. Vikas Kumar to take charge as new chief of Delhi Metro
- Vikas Kumar is the new Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) from April 1, 2022.
- Kumar took over the post from Dr. Mangu Singh, who was the DMRC MD since January 1, 2012.
- An officer of the 1988 batch of Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), Kumar worked with the Indian Railways in various capacities before joining DMRC.
8. ADB, HSBC tie-up to set up $100M partial guarantee programme for MFIs in India
- Asian Development Bank (ADB) and HSBC India have joined hands to establish a $100 million partial guarantee program to support more than 400,000 micro-borrowers and mostly women-run micro-enterprises.
- Under the deal, to give impetus to this partnership, aggregated financing of an equivalent of $30 million is being initially disbursed to three MFIs in India by April 2022.
- It is ADB’s first partnership with HSBC.
9. Mirabai Chanu Wins BBC Indian Sportswoman of the Year Award For 2021
- Ace Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu was named the BBC Indian Sportswoman of the Year award for 2021 in New Delhi.
- Mirabai Chanu, who is preparing for the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games currently, won the Silver medal in the 49 kg category at the Tokyo Olympics.

- Meghalaya is all set to host the 83rd National Table Tennis Championship 2022 scheduled to begin from April 18th till 25th, 2022 at SAI Indoor Training Centre, NEHU in Shillong.

- Leh Administration will sign a tripartite agreement to develop Hanley as Dark Sky Sanctuary and Leh Hill Council, WildLife and Tourism departments will jointly develop the area for Astro Tourism.

- Hanle is a fantastic destination, which is home to the 17th century Hanle Monastery.

- Chief Justice of India N V Ramana has launched FASTER (Fast and Secured Transmission of Electronic Records) — a digital platform to communicate interim orders, stay orders, bail orders etc, of the Supreme Court to authorities concerned through a secured electronic communication channel.
13. Banks get time till March 2023 to implement new system to replenish cash in ATMs
- The Reserve Bank of India has given another extension till March 2023 to banks to implement its direction on use of only lockable cassettes for replenishing cash in their ATMs.
- Currently, most of the ATMs are replenished by way of open cash top-up or by loading cash in the machines on the spot.
- ATM = Automated Teller Machines.
14. Maharashtra: Chandrapur records third hottest place in the world, witnesses first forest fire
- The first forest fire was recorded in Chandrapur district, the third hottest place in the entire world.
- The fire was witnessed in the area of Irai dam.
