1. President of India Inaugurates Madhavpur Ghed Fair
- The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the five-day long Madhavpur Ghed Fair at Madhavpur Ghed, Porbandar in Gujarat.
- Since 2018, the Government of Gujarat in association with the Ministry of Culture is organizing this fair every year to celebrate the sacred union of Lord Krishna and Rukmini.
- The fair was suspended for 2 years due to Covid-induced restrictions.
2. Prime Minister addresses 14th Foundation Day of Umiya Mata Temple in Gujarat’s Junagadh
- On the occasion of Ram Navami, PM Narendra Modi addressed the 14th Foundation Day celebration at Umiya Mata Temple at Gathila, Junagadh in Gujarat via video conferencing.
- Umiya Mata Temple at Gathila has become a place of social consciousness and tourism.
- Inauguration of the temple was also done by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in 2008 (When, he was the CM of Gujarat).
3. Ravichandran Ashwin Becomes First Player to Get Retired Out in IPL History
- The IPL 2022 match between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium saw R. Ashwin become the 1st batter in IPL history to be Retired Out.
- Ashwin was batting on 28 when he walked off, allowing Riyan Parag to join Shimron Hetmyer in the middle.
- Retired out is a tactical move.
- Once retired out, a batter cannot come back, unlike retired hurt.
4. Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank launches new deposit scheme
- Chairman of Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank P. Gopi Krishna launched a new deposit scheme of the bank, Vikas Siri Sampat-1111.
- The scheme is of a tenor of 1,111 days with an interest rate of 5.70% for the general public and 6.20% for senior citizens.
- It also offers the highest rate of annualised return of 6.03% for the general public and 6.60% for senior citizens.

- A photo taken next to the former Kamloops Indian Residential School has been chosen as the 2022 World Press Photo of the Year.
- And, for the first time in the contest’s 67-year history, the World Press Photo of the Year is a photograph without any people in it.
6. NRSC inks technical collaboration pact with UIDAI to develop Bhuvan-Aadhar portal
- Aadhaar-issuing body UIDAI and National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), ISRO have signed a pact for technical collaboration.
- NRSC would be developing the ‘Bhuvan-Aadhar’ portal providing information and locations of the Aadhaar centres across India.
- The portal also provides a facility to search the relevant Aadhaar centres by location, based on residents’ requirements.
7. Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports releases contribution of USD 72,124 to UNESCO Fund for Elimination of Doping in Sport
- As per the resolution of 7COP held in Paris, 29-31 September 2019, the State Parties had agreed to 1% of the contribution of the regular budget of the respective nation to UNESCO towards the Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport.
- First time in 2021, the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports made a contribution of USD 28172 towards the UNESCO Fund.
8. Former IAS officer RK Singh appointed principal adviser to IndiGo’s managing director
- Former Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation R K Singh has been appointed as Principal Advisor to IndiGo’s Managing Director Rahul Bhatia.
- Currently he serves on the Board of CAE Simulation Training Private Limited, which is a pilot training organization.
9. First ever NTCA meeting outside National Capital held at Arunachal Pradesh
- The 20th Meeting of National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) was held in Pakke tiger reserve in Arunachal Pradesh under the chairmanship of Union Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change Shri Bhupender Yadav.
10. Cadila Pharma launches world’s first novel 3-dose vaccine against rabies
- The three-dose vaccine, named as ‘ThRabis’, is a recombinant nano-particle based G protein vaccine which is prepared using Virus-like Particle technology.
- The new vaccine would prove to be a game-changer because all the existing rabies vaccines require five injections, spread over 28 days for eliminating the threat (of virus spread).

- APEDA has developed a matrix for 50 agricultural products based on their competitive advantage, uniqueness and supply side advantage.
