1. David Malpass, Bill Gates to attend LiFE Movement launch by PM Modi
- Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, World Bank President David Malpass, along with others, will take part in the launch of a global initiative ‘Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE) Movement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
2. Pan-India Rooftop Solar Awareness Campaign – launch by Union Minister Shri Khuba
- The campaign was launched in an event at Bidar, Karnataka.
- The campaign is titled “GHAR KE UPAR SOLAR IS SUPER” and aims at mobilizing local government, citizens, Residential Welfare Associations (RWAs), and Municipalities to spread awareness of Solar Rooftop.
- The ministry is working towards achieving a target of 500 GW of non-fossil by 2030.
3. Ministry of Tourism launches the National Strategy for Sustainable Tourism and Responsible Traveller campaign
- The Ministry of Tourism, in partnership with United Environment Program (UNEP) and Responsible Tourism Society of India (RTSOI) organized the National Summit on Developing Sustainable & Responsible Tourist Destinations in New Delhi.
- On the occasion, the Ministry of Tourism launched the National Strategy for Sustainable Tourism and Responsible Traveller Campaign.
4. Rubber Board’s electronic trading platform ‘mRube’ to go live from June 8
- mRube, the electronic trading platform promoted by Rubber Board will go live from June 8, 2022.
- The Ahmedabad-based i-Sourcing Technologies is the technology partner.
- mRube follows a simple one-time registration.
5. Tata Motors signs MoU for the potential acquisition of Ford India’s Sanand plant
- Tata Motors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government for the potential acquisition of Ford India’s Sanand plant.
- Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEML), a subsidiary of Tata Motors, would invest in new machinery and equipment at the plant to make the unit ready to produce its vehicles.

6. India’s largest gold reserves to be explored in Bihar
- As per a Geological Survey of India (GSI) survey, around 222.88 million tonnes of the gold reserve are present in the Jamui district of Bihar.
- This amounts to 44 per cent of the total gold reserves in the country.
- The state government has accorded permission for exploration.
7. Foundation Stone Laid for Olympic-Level Sports Centre in Ahmedabad
- Union Home and Cooperative Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for the new international sports complex in Naranpura area of Ahmedabad city.
- The ambitious project will be completed in the next 30 months on 20.39 acres of land at a cost of Rs 631.77 crore.
8. Journalist Wesley Morgan has won the 2022 William E. Colby Award
- He won the award for his book, “The Hardest Place: The American Military Adrift in Afghanistan’s Pech Valley,” (Random House, 2021).
9. 7 more military airports to increase assistance to civil airlines
- The government announced that seven more military airports would increase their contribution to civil aviation by giving working assistance and land to the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
10. Supreme Court orders no mining within 1 km of protected forests
- In a bid to protect wildlife biodiversity in the country, the Supreme Court has said each protected forest should have a 1-km radius of eco-sensitive zone (ESZ) and no mining shall be permitted there.
- The Chief Conservator of Forests should make a list of existing structures under the sensitive zone and submit the report to the court within three months.

- Manimekhalai is the first woman MD and CEO of Union Bank of India and replaces Rajkiran Rai. G who held the position of Union Bank chief since 2017.
- Ajay Kumar Srivastava, Executive Director at Indian Overseas Bank, has been appointed MD and CEO for three years.
- Swarup Kumar Saha has been appointed MD and CEO of Punjab & Sind Bank for 3 years. He will replace S Krishnan.
12. CoinSwitch launches CRE8, a benchmark index for crypto market in INR
- Crypto investing app CoinSwitch has launched the cryptocurrency rupee Index (CRE8), a benchmark index to measure the performance of the Indian rupee-based crypto market.
- CRE8 tracks the performance of eight crypto assets representing over 85 per cent of the total market capitalisation of cryptos traded in Indian rupee.
- The index is based on real trades on the CoinSwitch app.

13. ‘eSanjeevani’ integrated with NHA’s Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM)
- ‘eSanjeevani’, Govt. of India’s free Telemedicine service integrated with NHA’s ABDM.
- This integration allows the existing users of eSanjeevani, the telemedicine service of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) to easily create their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) and use it to link and manage their existing health records like prescriptions, lab reports, etc.

14. Airtel Payments Bank partners with Muthoot Finance to offer gold loans on Airtel Thanks app
- Airtel Payments Bank’s customers can now apply for a gold loan from Muthoot Finance within a minute on the Airtel Thanks app.
- Muthoot Finance gives as much as 75 percent of the pledged gold value as a loan.
- Customers get doorstep disbursals for loan amounts of ₹50,000 and above.

15. C-DOT signs agreement with VVDN Technologies and WiSig Networks to develop 5G Open RAN
- The Centre for Development of Telematics has signed an agreement with WiSig Networks Private Limited and VVDN Technologies Private Limited for collaboration in the area of Open RAN-based Radio Network for 5G solution.
- The Ministry of Communications said that it is a major step for Indigenous development of 5G Open RAN under Aatmanirbhar Bharat Initiative.
