1. Govt to soon launch nationwide campaign ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ to inspire people to hoist national flag
- The Central government will soon launch a nationwide campaign Har Ghar Tiranga to inspire countrymen to hoist the national flag at their homes to mark the 75th Independence Day.
- The initiative has been taken under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, for which the Ministry of Culture is the nodal ministry.
- It aims at encouraging Indians everywhere to hoist the national flag.

- Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has signed his resignation letter, and the Speaker of Parliament will publicly announce it to the nation.

- In Athletics, Bhagwani Devi, a 94-year-old sprinter from India, won the gold medal in the 100 m sprint at the World Masters Athletics Championships held in Tampere, Finland.
- She won the gold with a timing of 24.74 seconds.
- Bhagwani also bagged a bronze medal in shot put.
- World Masters Athletics Championships was held in Tampere from June 29 – July 10.
4. RBI fines Ola Financial Services Rs 1.67 cr for not following directions
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has fined Ola Financial Services Rs 1.67 crore for not complying with its directions on prepaid payment instruments.
- The company is a unit of the ride-hailing platform.
- Ola Financial Services was found to be non-compliant with the directions issued by RBI on Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.

- Eminent archaeologist, historian and former Director-General of the Bangladesh National Museum Dr. Enamul Haque passed away in Dhaka yesterday.
- He was 85.
- Enamul Haque was conferred with Padma Shri for the year 2020 for his work on Bengal’s Iconography and terracotta art.
- He was instrumental in setting up the Bangladesh National Museum.
8. Parameswaran Iyer takes charge as the CEO of NITI Aayog
- Former drinking water and sanitation secretary Parameswaran Iyer, who led the Centre’s flagship Swachh Bharat Mission, took charge as chief executive officer (CEO) of Niti Aayog.
- His appointment for the role was cleared by the Cabinet Appointments Committee on June 24.
- He replaced Amitabh Kant, who demitted office on June 30.

9. IRDAI sets up two task forces on issues of reinsurance support
- A nine-member panel has been constituted to sort out the issues between non-life insurers and reinsurers under the chairmanship of Bhargav Dasgupta, MD and CEO of ICICI Lombard General.
- Headed by Naveen Tahilyani, CEO and MD, Tata AIA Life Insurance, the second task force, comprising seven members, will look at the life insurance segment and re-insurers.

- The International Cricket Council announced the winners of the ICC Player of the Month awards for June 2022 as England’s all-conquering Jonny Bairstow and South Africa’s batting force Marizanne Kapp.
- Baristow scored the second fastest century ever registered by an English batter in the longest format against New Zealand.
- Kapp scored a national record of 150 against England.
