1. India to launch first-ever Coal Trading Exchange
- India is planning to open its first coal trading exchange on the basis of commodity or energy exchanges.
- The coal trading exchange will be an electronic system based that will provide an online platform to various traders in the market.
- CIL has set a production target of 1-billion tons by 2024.

2. India’s first B2B virtual trade concludes, catalyses Rs 153-crore business
- Amid various lockdown-related curbs, India’s first virtual business-to-business trade fair concluded.

3. Customs duty hiked on bamboo imports from 10% to 25%
- Union Government has hiked Customs duty on bamboo imports by Agarbatti manufacturers from 10 per cent to 25 per cent with immediate effect.
- The decision has been taken to encourage use of domestic bamboo under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat scheme.
- Fiscal outgo for Aatmanirbhar Bharat scheme : 20.97 Lakh Crore.
4. Road Transport ministry issues distinct colour band for number plate sticker for BS-VI vehicles
- Road Transport ministry has mandated a strip of green colour of 1 cm width on top of the existing sticker carrying details of registration for BS-VI vehicles of any fuel type.
- Petrol/ CNG have light blue colour sticker.
- While diesel vehicles have orange colour.
- BS-VI emission standards have been mandated from 1 April 2020.
5. Uttar Pradesh govt amends 65 years old cow slaughter act of state
- The Uttar Pradesh government has amended the 65 years old cow slaughter act of state and made stringent provisions in a new ordinance to stop cow slaughter in the state.
- The State Cabinet has approved Cow Slaughter Prevention (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020.
- Punishments: Maximum 10-year jail term and Rs 5 lakh of fine.
6. India sees a dip in number of self-employed households in FY19: Survey
- The percentage of self-employed households in rural India dropped from 52.2% in FY18 to 51.7% in FY19.
- While in urban India it declined from 32.4% to 31.8% during the same period according to the Periodic Labour Force Survey released by NSO.

8. RBI proposes new norms for loan sales and securitisations
- RBI has issued new draft frameworks for the sale of loan exposures and the securitisation of standard assets by banks and NBFIs.

- The definition of securitisation has been modified to allow single asset securitisations against the previous multiple assets.

11. First American woman to walk in space reaches deepest spot in the Ocean
- Kathy Sullivan, America’s first female spacewalker, also became the first woman to reach the deepest known point of the ocean.
- Sullivan dove to the bottom of the Challenger Deep in the Pacific Ocean and safely returned in her submersible vessel.
- She is now the eighth person to reach the depth.
12. India to rebuild 56 schools destroyed in Nepal’s 2015 earthquake
- The Indian Embassy in Nepal will rebuild 56 higher secondary which were destroyed in the powerful earthquake that hit the country in 2015.
- It is part of the government’s post-earthquake reconstruction works in Nepal with a grant of around Rs 184 crore.

14. DMK MLA J. Anbazhagan dies of Coronavirus
- DMK MLA from Chepauk, Triplicane, J. Anbazhagan, became the first VIP victim of coronavirus from Tamil Nadu when he died at the age of 62.
- A three-time MLA, Anbazhagan was elected to the assembly in 2001, 2011 and 2016.
- Anbazhagan was DMK Chennai West district secretary.
