1. PARAM ANANTA Supercomputer commissioned Under Phase – 2 at IIT, Gandhinagar
- PARAM Ananta, a supercomputing facility under the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM) jointly steered by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), has been commissioned at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN).
- The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) implemented it.
2. PM Modi launches PM CARES for Children Scheme: Rs 4000/Month for Basic Needs, Free Treatment for Kids Who Lost Parents to Covid
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released the benefits of the PM CARES for Children scheme for children who lost their parents due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
- PM Modi has promised Rs 4,000 a month for basic needs, financial support for schooling, scholarship for higher education, and free treatment upto Rs 5 lakh.
3. Tata Motors Inks Pact For Potential Acquisition Of Ford India’s Plant In Gujarat’s Sanand
- Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEML), a subsidiary of Tata Motors Ltd, and Ford India Private Limited (FIPL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Gujarat (GoG) for the potential acquisition of FIPL’s Sanand vehicle manufacturing facility.
4. Karnataka CM launches health, wellness app AAYU
- Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai has launched a new health and wellness app AAYU to address and help heal chronic diseases and lifestyle disorders through yoga and meditation.
- The app has been developed by Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (S-VYASA) in partnership with RESET TECH, an AI-driven integrated health-tech platform.
5. LIC introduces Bima Ratna
- Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) introduced a new plan Bima Ratna, which is a non-linked and non-participating individual savings life insurance plan.
- It offers a combination of protection and savings.
- It is a limited premium paying, money back plan with guaranteed additions.
- The plan is available for a term of 15, 20 and 25 years.
6. Govt. announces formation of Cotton Council of India under Chairmanship of Suresh Bhai Kotak
- The Union Government has announced the formation of the Cotton Council of India under the Chairmanship of renowned veteran cotton man Suresh Bhai Kotak.
- It will have representation from Textiles, Agriculture, Commerce, and Finance Ministries along with Cotton Corporation of India and Cotton Research Institute.
7. India Hosted Key SCO Anti-terror Meet
- India hosted the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (SCO-RATS) summit in New Delhi.
- The delegates from China, Pakistan, and Russia participated.
- The meeting is the first such since the rife between New Delhi and Beijing over the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in 2020.
- India will attain the chairmanship of the SCO in 2023.
8. Saudi Aramco overtakes Apple as world’s most valuable company
- Saudi Aramco has overtaken Apple as the world’s most valuable company after higher oil prices pushed shares of the world’s biggest crude exporter to record levels, while a broader tech stock sell-off weighs on the iPhone maker.
- The Saudi Arabian oil company’s market capitalization was $2.426 trillion, exceeding Apple’s $2.415 trillion by just over $10 billion.
9. Chess: world’s oldest grandmaster, Yuri Averbakh, dies at 100
- The world’s oldest grandmaster, Yuri Averbakh, passed away aged 100.
- He won the Moscow Championship in 1949 and earned the Grandmaster title in 1952.
- He also chaired the Chess Federation of the USSR from 1972 to 1977.
- In 1954, he became the champion of the USSR.
10. National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) Launches Portal To Simplify Process Of Recognition Of Teacher Education Programme
- The National Council for Teacher Education has launched an online portal to simplify the process of recognition of teacher education programs of higher education institutions.
- The portal launched to streamline the process seeks to help right from the time of inviting application for courses till the stage of issue of recognition orders including the inspection of institutions.
11. Union Minister Anurag Thakur inaugurates Takshashila Sports Complex at Viman Nagar in Pune
- Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Anurag Thakur inaugurated the Takshashila Sports Complex built by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) at Viman Nagar.
- The Minister recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s words, “Kheloge toh khiloge! and said “sports teaches perseverance, instils self confidence and develops leadership qualities”.
- Under the TOPS, GOI takes full responsibility for foreign training of elite athletes.
12. Adani Green arm commissions India’s first wind-solar hybrid power plant in Jaisalmer
- In a major push to India’s green energy drive, Adani Green subsidiary Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer One Limited has commissioned a 390 MW wind-solar hybrid power plant at Jaisalmer.
- The plant will be India’s first wind and solar hybrid power generation plant.
- This project is a part of the first construction facility by international banks in Adani Green.
13. Non-alcoholic beverage market likely to hit Rs 1.47 lakh cr by 2030, says ICRIER report
- India has the potential to become a non-alcoholic beverage hub and the country’s non-alcoholic beverage market is expected to touch a market size of Rs. 1.47 lakh crore by 2030.
- The size of the market was estimated at Rs 671 billion (Rs 67,100 crore) in 2019, which is projected to reach around Rs 1,472.33 billion (Rs 1,47,233 crore) in 2030.

14. NBFC Northern Arc Capital ties up with Indian Bank
- Northern Arc Capital, a non-banking finance company (NBFC) focussed on under-served households and businesses, has entered into a strategic partnership with Indian Bank.
- The partnership would enable the two financial institutions to collaborate, co-operate, co-lend loans, and widen their respective markets and customer base.
15. Manipur’s Ukhrul marks the onset Shirui Lily Festival after 2 years of Covid-19
- The fourth edition of the Shirui Lily Festival began at Shirui village in Manipur’s Ukhrul district.
- Besides Shirui village, the cultural extravaganza will also be held at Bakshi Ground in Dungrei where musical bands from across the country will participate in a singing competition titled ‘Shirock’.
16. India Tops In South Asia Travel And Tourism Development Index But Drops to 54th Place Globally
- In the global travel and tourism index, India ranks in 54th place.
- However, in 2019, India stood in 46th place.
- But this is not it. India still continues to top in South Asia travel list.
- India is slowly recovering from the damages caused by the pandemic.
- As per the World Economic Forum (WEF) study, India’s travel and tourism sector has shown ‘signs of recovery’.
17. Tripura adopts EV policy, to convert 10% of state’s vehicles to electric mode in 5 years
- In an effort to cut down on environmental pollution & uphold Tripura as an eco-friendly tourist destination, the state government has decided to adopt the Tripura Electric Vehicle Policy 2022, to promote electric vehicles.
- EV = Electronics Vehicles.
- The electric vehicles policy is already existing in 14 states of the country.
- If implemented, Tripura would become the15th state & 3rd in the North East.
- North East states Meghalaya and Assam adopted EV policy.
18. PAISALO and UCO Bank to Enable AGRI and Allied AGRI with Small Ticket Size Income Generation Loans
- UCO Bank has signed a co-lending agreement with NBFC Paisalo Digital Limited for agriculture business to capitalize on the huge Rs. 8 lakh crore market of small-ticket loans for the 365 million underbanked and under-serviced population.
- The tie-up will give a boost to the agriculture advance of the bank.
