1. SBI report says in Q1 FY23 India’s GDP growth in expected at 15.7%

• India’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate in the April-June quarter of the ongoing fiscal is expected at 15.7 percent due to the low base effect and consumption boost post easing of Covid restrictions, says the latest SBI Ecowrap report.
• The progress in the economy is seen despite global spillovers, elevated inflation and some slackening of external demand.

2. 67th Filmfare Awards: Ranveer Singh wins for his role as Kapil Dev in the film ’83’, Kriti Sanon for ‘Mimi’

• Ranveer Singh bagged the Best Actor award for ‘83’, Kriti Sanon was adjudged the Best Actress for her performance in ‘Mimi’.
• Vicky Kaushal won the Best Actor – Critics’ Choice for ‘Sardar Uddham’ and Vidya Balan bagged the Best Actress-Critics’ Choice for ‘Sherni’.

3. Telangana tops inflation charts at 8.32%

• While headline inflation measured by the CPI has averaged 6.8% in the first seven months of 2022, well above the 6% upper tolerance threshold set by policy makers, a dozen States clocked an average inflation of less than 6% and another 12 States averaging over 7%.
• Telangana, along with West Bengal (8.06%) and Sikkim (8.01%), report rates well above the nation’s 6.8%.

10. L&T Technology bags 5-year deal from BMW Group in the infotainment domain

• L&T Technology Services (LTTS), a leading global pure-play engineering services company has won a 5-year, multi-million-dollar deal from German luxury vehicle maker BMW Group to provide high-end engineering services for the company’s suite of infotainment consoles targeted for its family of hybrid vehicles.

• F1 Red Bull’s Max Verstappen won the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, overcoming a grid penalty for a power unit change that meant he started from the midfield.
• From 14th on the grid, Verstappen surged through the field to take the lead after just 12 of the 44 laps.
• Verstappen became just the second driver in F1 history to win consecutive races from 10th or lower.

• The 597th meeting of the Central Board of Directors of Reserve Bank of India was held at its Regional Office in Jaipur under the Chairmanship of Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor.
