1. IFFI 53 presents the first feature film in Indian film history to have a star cast comprising only indigenous people
- ‘Dhabari Quruvi’ is the first film in the history of Indian cinema to star only people from indigenous communities. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Priyanandan, the film also has the distinction of having been shot completely in the tribal language of Irula.
- The film is being presented at the 53rd edition of the IFFI, which is set to open in Goa on 20 Nov 2022.
2. Mysuru – Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. MGR Chennai Central Vande Bharat Express & Kashi Bharat Gaurav Trains flagged off by PM
- Narendra Modi flagged off the Vande Bharat Express between Mysuru and Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MGR Chennai Central today at KSR Bengaluru Railway Station.
- This is the fifth Vande Bharat Express started in the country and the first such train of south India.
- The Prime Minister also flagged off Bharat Gaurav Kashi Darshan Train at KSR Railway Station, Bengaluru.
3. PM Modi unveils 108-ft bronze statue of Bengaluru founder Nadaprabhu Kempegowda
- The statue is built to commemorate the contribution of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda, the founder of the city, towards the growth of Bengaluru.
- Conceptualised and sculpted by Ram V Sutar of the Statue of Unity fame, 98 tonnes of bronze and 120 tonnes of steel have gone into making this statue.
- It is called ‘Statue of Prosperity’ in Bengaluru.

4. Government notified E-waste (management) rules 2022
- The government has notified the E-Waste (Management) Rules 2022, which will come into force on 1 April 2023 and apply to all manufacturers, producers, processors, dismantlers and recyclers of e-waste.
- Electronics manufacturers must ensure that at least 60% of e-waste is collected and recycled by 2023, with the goal of increasing this to 70% and 80% in 2024 and 2025.
- 95% of e-waste in India is recycled by the informal sector.
5. Centre amends Aadhaar regulation, advises updating supporting documents
- documents supporting their information at least every 10 years from the date of registration to ensure the accuracy of the data.
- The change stipulates that users can update their documents to ensure the continued accuracy of their information in the Central Identities Data Repository.
- As of June 2022, over 133 million Aadhaar cards have been issued.
6. WHO releases first data on global vaccine market since COVID-19
- According to the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Vaccine Market Report 2022, uneven distribution is not limited to COVID-19 vaccines, as poorer countries continue to struggle to obtain vaccines that richer countries need.
- Affordability is also a barrier to getting a vaccine, according to the World Health Organization.
7. The International Solar Alliance (ISA) releases $1 trillion roadmap for scaling solar investment, deployment
- ISA has released a roadmap to mobilize $1 trillion by 2030 to meet investment needs to expand deployment of solar projects.
- The roadmap – Our Solar Future: A Roadmap to Mobilize $1 Billion by 2030 – was presented by ISA, World Resources Institute (WRI) and Bloomberg Philanthropies at COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh.
- The International Solar Alliance is headquartered in Gurgaon.
8. SEBI panel proposes measures to strengthen governance of exchanges and other market infrastructure institutions
- Chaired by G. Mahalingam, the group is tasked with proposing governance norms for Market Infrastructure Institutions such as stock exchanges, depositories and clearing houses.
- Organisational classification at MIIs should be based on functions and categorised into three verticals—critical operations; regulatory, compliance and risk management; and other functions.

11. Union Minister Jitendra Singh dedicates first Indian Biological Data Center to the nation
- Jitendra Singh dedicates the ‘Indian Biological Data Center’ (IBDC) in Faridabad, Haryana, for India’s first national life science data repository.
- Jitendra Singh said, as per the BIOTECH-PRIDE guidelines of the Government of India, IBDC is mandated to archive all life science data generated from publicly-funded research in India.
12. India saved $4.2 billion in fuel costs through solar power: Report
- India saves $4.2 billion in fuel costs through solar power in the first half of 2022, and 19.4 million tonnes of coal which would have further stressed an already strained domestic supply, according to a report ‘The sunny side of Asia’.
- The majority of the estimated savings were in China with $21 billion in fossil fuels imports.
13. Nation-wide Campaign for Promotion of Digital Life Certificate
- The Department of Pensions and Pensioners Welfare, Ministry of Personnel, Public Complaints and Pensions of the Government of India, has launched a nationwide digital life certificate promotion campaign for central government pensioners, promoting life certification in digital mode and popularizing face authentication technology.
- Jeevan Pramaan is a Life Certificate program affiliated with Aadhaar for pensioners.
14. DigiLocker users can now digitally store health records and link them with Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA)
- DigiLocker, a real certificate exchange platform under MeitY, has successfully completed the second level of integration with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM)..
- DigiLocker can be used now as a health locker for storing and accessing health records such as vaccination records, doctor prescriptions, lab reports, hospital discharge summaries etc.
- Digital Locker was launched on 1st July 2015.
15. DGFT notifies amended Foreign Trade Policy norms for export benefits on rupee receipts
- The criteria notified by the DGFT enables exporters to take advantage of the foreign trade policy even if it is realized in rupees.
- The DGFT, under the commerce ministry, has already allowed invoicing, payment and settlement of exports and imports in Indian rupee, a move aimed at facilitating trade in the domestic currency.
16. Ministry of Rural Development signs MoU to support effective governance systems under DAY- NRLM
- Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) has signed MoU with Gurugram-based Veddis Foundation to support setting up of effective governance systems under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM), strengthen State capacities, establish innovative models and implement the national strategy for Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) and SHG convergence.
17. Indian Railways accomplishes electrification of 82% of the total BG network
- Indian Railways has embarked on an ambitious plan to electrify its entire broad-gauge network, which will not only make better use of fuel energy, thereby increasing throughput and lowering fuel costs, it will also save valuable foreign exchange.
- The Indian Railways has set a target of 100 % electrification of its network by Dec 2023.
