1. Rajasthan tops solar electrification under Saubhagya Scheme
- Rajasthan has the maximum households electrified through the solar-based standalone system, while hill states of Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir had nil beneficiaries under the initiative.
- Centre had launched Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana – ‘Saubhagya’ in October 2017.
- It also entailed provision of solar based standalone systems to un-electrified households.
2. Former J-K High Court Chief Justice Gita Mittal appointed as chairperson of Committee of Administrators to run TTFI
- The Delhi High Court has appointed former Jammu and Kashmir High Court Chief Justice Gita Mittal as the chairperson of the Committee of Administrators to discharge the functions of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI).
- Chetan Mittal, Senior Advocate and S D Mudgil, a renowned athlete as a member of the committee.
3. PM approves extension of Modernisation of Police Forces scheme till 2025-26
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the extension of the umbrella scheme of Modernisation of Police Forces (MPF) for three more fiscals till 2025-26.
- It has approved with a central outlay of Rs 26,275 crore with the bulk going to equip forces to tackle troubles in Jammu and Kashmir, north-east and naxal-infested states
4. India to replace diesel by renewable energy in agriculture by 2024
- Union power and renewable energy minister R K Singh said that India will replace use of diesel in farming with renewables by 2024.
- He chaired a virtual meeting with additional chief secretaries and principal secretaries of power in states for collaboration between the Central and state governments for achieving energy transition goals.
5. Scientists find White-Cheeked Macaque in Arunachal Pradesh
- In an important discovery, scientists have recorded the presence of White-Cheeked Macaque (Macaca leucogenys) from central Arunachal Pradesh in India.
- The species was discovered in 2015 by a group of Chinese scientists from the Modog region in southeastern Tibet.
- This discovery was considered a significant breakthrough as far as primates are concerned.

7. Hero Electric partners with SBI for E-2W loans; discount offered for YONO payment
- Electric two-wheeler company Hero Electric has announced its partnership with the State Bank of India (SBI) for two-wheeler financing solutions.
- Customers buying Hero Electric e-scooters will get an additional INR 2,000 off on payments made through YONO.
- YONO is an integrated digital banking platform of State Bank of India.
- Customers will be able to opt for a fully digital and paperless two-wheeler loan.
8. Saint-Gobain India & IIT Madras Research ink pact to promote renewable energy in buildings
- French glass and building material major Saint-Gobain and IIT Madras Research Park have signed an agreement to collaborate on technologies to promote maximum use of clean energy as part of net-zero carbon emission
- As part of the MoU signed by Saint-Gobain India will be supporting IIT Madras Research Park with a funding of ₹1 crore over the next 3 years.
9. Bank of Baroda to acquire Union Bank’s 21% stake in IndiaFirst Life
- Bank of Baroda (BoB) board has approved acquisition of a 21% stake of Union Bank of India in IndiaFirst Life Insurance, subject to regulatory approvals.
- On completion of the transaction, BoB will hold a 65% stake in IndiaFirst Life, Union Bank will hold 9% and Carmel Point Investments India will have the remaining 26% stake.
10. ‘Samajik Adhikarita Shivir’&‘An Integrated Mobile Service Delivery Van’for Divyangjan and Senior Citizens launched
- A ‘Samajik Adhikarita Shivir’ for distribution of aids and assistive devices to ‘Divyangjan’ under the ADIP Scheme and Senior citizens under ‘RashtriyaVayoshri Yojana’ (RVY Scheme) of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
- The Shivir was organized at Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh.
11. India, WFP signs MoU to distribute food grains in Afghanistan
- India signed an agreement with the United Nation’s World Food Programme (WFP) for the distribution of 50,000 tonnes of wheat that it has committed to sending to Afghanistan as part of humanitarian assistance.
- The agreement was announced by the Indian Embassy in Rome.

- Maharashtra’s Health Minister Rajesh Tope announced that “Hope Express” will be launched in the state to prevent cancer.

- The State Health Minister also promised to take initiative to start Hope Express in every district of the state through district planning.
