1. Gujarat-based NBFC tops NARCL bid for consolidated construction
- Gujarat-based NBFC Raj Radhe Finance has offered ₹130 crore for the debt of EPC firm Consolidated Construction Consortium (CCC), topping a ₹100-crore offer from National Asset Reconstruction Co Ltd (NARCL).
- Raj Radhe’s offer comes in response to a Swiss challenge from the banks following NRCL’s anchor bid last month.
2. 41st India International Trade Fair to begin in New Delhi
- The 41st edition of the India International Trade Fair (IITF) has started at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
- The theme of this year’s exhibition is “Voice for local people, from local to global”.
- Nearly 2,500 domestic and foreign exhibitors have participated in the exhibition to showcase their products and services.
3. Bank of Maharashtra tops list of PSU lenders in credit growth in Q2 FY23
- Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) has outperformed other public sector lenders in terms of loan growth rate in Q2 2022.
- Union Bank of India came second with an increase of 21.54 per cent to Rs 7,52,469 crore.
- State Bank of India (SBI) came third with an 18.15% increase in total advances.

4. Indian shooters dominate 15th Asian Air Rifle Championships winning gold medals in all 4 team events
- Indian shooters won gold in all four team events at the 15th Asian Air Rifle Championships in Daegu, South Korea.
- The trio of Arjun Babuta, Kiran Ankush Jadhav and Rudrank Balasaheb Patil started the day with a gold medal win over Kazakhstan 17-11 in the men’s 10m air rifle event.
5. India’s first privately built rocket – set for launch in 15th November.
- Hyderabad-based space startup Skyroot Aerospace said India’s first privately developed rocket, Vikram-S, is ready for launch on November 15 on a suborbital mission with three payloads.
- The space startup is dubbing it “Prarambh” (start), and the inaugural mission will carry payloads from two Indian and one foreign customers.
- It will be launched from the ISRO’s launchpad.
6. India announces additional contribution of $5 million to ASEAN-India science and technology fund
- India has announced an additional $5 million contribution to the ASEAN-India Science and Technology Fund to strengthen cooperation in public health, renewable energy and smart agriculture.
- The news came during Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s three-day visit to Cambodia for the ASEAN-India-East Asia Summit.
7. Venki Ramakrishnan awarded UK’s royal Order of Merit
- India-born Nobel laureate Professor Venki Ramakrishnan has been awarded the prestigious Order of Merit by Britain’s King Charles III in recognition of his distinguished service to science.
- The UK-based molecular biologist is among six appointments made to the historic order by the late Queen Elizabeth II before her death and the first to be appointed by Charles.
8. Ministry of Rural Development signs MoU with Veddis Foundation for National Rural Livelihood Mission
- Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) has signed an MoU with Gurugram-based Veddis Foundation to enable effective governance of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM), strengthen state capacities, establish innovative models and implement the national strategy for Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) and SHG convergence.
9. RL Kashyap, Indian Mathematician & Professor died
- RL Kashyap died on 11 November at the age of 84.
- RL Kashyap was honored with Padma Shri by the President of India in 2021.
- In 1982, he represented the Kashyap Information Criterion (KIC) to select the best model from a set of mathematical candidate models with different numbers of unknown parameters.
- These parameters are adjusted to adapt the models to data.
10. Union Bank of India rings 104th Foundation Day with launch of Vyom App
- Union Bank of India, the fifth largest public sector bank in the country, celebrated its 104th foundation day on November 11, 2022.
- Union Vyom App is a super app for banks and a one-stop shop for all financial commodities.
- The Vyom app provides consumers with a unique banking experience that enables them to transact outside of traditional banking.
11. Cop 27: Breakthrough Agenda countries set priorities
- Signatories to the decarbonization initiative, the Breakthrough Agenda, have identified 25 actions to be taken by the UN COP 28 climate summit next year, to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.
- The group has 47 signatories, including Australia, China, the United Arab Emirates, the European Commission and all G7 countries.
- India is also a signatory to the coalition.
12. NFRA issues inspection guidelines to improve quality control at audit firms
- The U.S. National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) released a set of guidelines that guide audit firms’ quality and compliance standards.
- Quality inspection guidelines is a step towards further improving the quality of the accounting profession.
13. ASEAN agrees in principle to admit East Timor as 11th member
- The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has agreed in principle to admit East Timor as the group’s 11th member.
- The peninsula country, officially known as Timor-Leste, was also granted observer status at the ASEAN high-level meeting.

14. US Treasury Removes India from its Currency Monitoring List
- The US Department of Treasury has removed India from its Currency Monitoring List of major trading partners after the past two years.
- The list merits close attention with regard to countries’ currency practices and macroeconomic policies.
- Along with India, Italy, Mexico, Thailand and Vietnam have also been removed from the list.
- Once on the Currency Monitoring List, an economy remains there for at least two consecutive years.
