1. Govt notifies Mauritius as eligible country for Category – I FPIs
- The government notified Mauritius as an eligible country enabling its investment entities as Category I FPIs.
- With lower KYC requirements and hence would get the benefit from indirect transfer provisions under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
- Mauritius remains the 2nd largest source of FPI money.
2. Food Bank to help the needy and poor introduced in Manipur
