1. Armed Forces Day (Third Saturday of the May)
- Armed Forces Day is celebrated on the third Saturday of every May.

3. 2% interest subvention on smallest category of MUDRA-Shishu loans
- FM announced Rs 1500 crore interest subvention for MUDRA-Shishu loan payees of up to Rs 50,000, for a period of 12 months as part of the stimulus package given by the Centre.
- Government to provide interest subvention of 2% for prompt payees of the loan.
- This could cost the government at least Rs 1500 crore annually.

- He highlighted the pro-active measures taken by India towards COVID-19 management.

6. Deforestation rate globally declined between 2015 and 2020: FAO report
- The rate of forest loss in 2015-2020 declined to an estimated 10 million hectares (MHA).
- Down from 12 MHA in 2010-2015, according to Global Forest Resources Assessment 2020 (FRA).
- It was released by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.
- World’s total forest area is 4.06 bha, which is 31% of the total land area.

9. Gujarat CM announces Atma-Nirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana
- Gujarat announced Atma-Nirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana, a scheme for small shop keepers and self-employed hit by the lockdown.
- Under the scheme, Rs. 1 lakh collateral-free loan will be given at two per cent for the beneficiaries for three years.
- Over 10 lakh self-employed & shop keepers to be benefited.
10. West Bengal govt launches Matir Smristi scheme
- Under the scheme, 50,000 acres of barren land in six districts to be utilised for income-generating activities like horticulture and pisciculture.
- The scheme will benefit around 2.5 lakh people in rural Bengal.

11. RBI extends interest subsidy scheme for exporters till March 31, 2021
- Exporters get the subsidy under the ‘Interest Equalisation Scheme for pre and Post Shipment Rupee Export Credit’.

- It has been extended till March 31, 2021.

- MoneyGram Payment Systems has tied up with Federal Bank to offer a cost-effective direct-to-bank account credit option for customers.

- Federal Bank has over 15% share of country’s remittance market.
13. Vice Admiral GM Hiranandani Memorial Rolling Trophy 2020
- Lieutenant commander Akshay Kumar of Anti-Submarine Warfare School of Southern Naval Command (SNC) at Kochi was awarded the coveted Vice Admiral GM Hiranandani Memorial Rolling Award for the year 2020.

14. Roberto Azevêdo quits as WTO chief a year early
- Roberto Azevedo, the Head of the World Trade Organization (WTO), has decided to resign, a year before his term expires.

- The platform supports up to 25 attendees at a time.

- The Japan Sumo Association (JSA) confirmed the death of wrestler as Shobushi, whose real name was Kiyotaka Suetake.
- He is reported to have been the first sumo wrestler to die from the virus, and the first person in his 20s to die in Japan from Covid-19.
