2. Top 12 FMCG companies sign up with govt’s Suraksha Stores
  • India’s top 12 packaged consumer goods makers have signed up to work with the government for Suraksha Stores.
  • Suraksha Store is an initiative in which companies will help neighbourhood stores ensure safety & hygiene practices.
  • Initially, one million stores will be covered.
  • Plans are under the ministry of Union consumer affairs.

  • The service has first been made available in Raipur city.

  • AIIB = Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank
  • AIIB is considering a proposal for financing $500-million project in India.

6. Centre unveils PUSA decontamination, sanitizing tunnel
  • Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Chaudhary inaugurated a PUSA decontamination and sanitizing tunnel.
  • The tunnel has been developed by the government research body ICAR.

  • In this tunnel, QAC are used at concentration of 0.045%.

8. India’s Aarogya Setu becomes world’s fastest app to reach 50 million downloads in 13 days
  • Aarogya Setu application that tracks Covid-19 cases around and helps in fighting the virus on an individual level.
  • The app reached 50 million downloads just 13 days.
  • It becomes the world’s fastest downloaded app, said NITI Aayog CEO, Amitabh Kant.
  • It is developed by the NIC under Ministry of Electronics and IT.

9. Chitra GeneLAMP-N makes confirmatory tests results of COVID 19 possible in 2 hours
  • Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum, has developed a diagnostic test kit.
  • The kit can confirm COVID19 in 2 hours at low cost.
  • GeneLAMP-N can detect two regions of the gene.

11. India to host Asian Boxing Championship
  • The national sports federation has announced that it will host the Asian Boxing Championships for men and women in November-December this year.
