India’s GDP likely to grow at 5.8% in Oct-Dec: SBI’s Ecowrap report
- The country’s gross domestic product (GDP) is likely to grow at 5.8% in the third quarter of fiscal 2022, according to an SBI’s research report- Ecowrap.
- As per SBI Nowcasting Model, the forecasted GDP growth for Q3 FY22 would be 8%, with a downward bias.
- The full year (FY22) GDP growth is now revised downwards to 8.8% from our earlier estimate of 9.3%.
Bank of Baroda subscribes to 99,000 shares of India Debt Resolution Company
- Public sector Bank of Baroda has subscribed to 99,000 shares of asset reconstruction company India Debt Resolution Company Ltd (IDRCL).
- The acquisition is subject to the execution of an investment agreement.

Government approves Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) Scheme to continue till 31st March, 2026
- The Government has approved the scheme of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) for continuation till 31.03.2026 or till further review, whichever is earlier.
- The proposal entails an expenditure of Rs. 12929.16 crore out of which Central Share is Rs. 8120.97 crores and the State Share is of Rs. 4808.19 crores.
- It has been envisaged to support around 1600 projects under the new phase of the scheme.

- India and UAE signed the historic Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) aimed at boosting the merchandise trade between the two countries to US$ 100 billion over the next 5 years.

Government approves implementation of Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) project during the period 2022-23 to 2025-26
- The government has approved the implementation of the Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) project by the Ministry of Home Affairs at a total cost of Rs.3,375 crore during the period from 2022-23 to 2025-26.
- The ICJS system would be made available through a dedicated and secure cloud-based infrastructure with high-speed connectivity.
- The project will be implemented as a Central Sector Scheme.
Govt. of India and World Bank sign loan agreement of $115 million
- The Government of India, the State Governments of Karnataka and Odisha and the World Bank have signed a $115 million Programme (Rejuvenating Watersheds for Agricultural Resilience through Innovative Development Programme).
- The fund will help national and state institutions adopt improved watershed management practices to help increase farmers’ resilience.
- The Government of India has committed to restoring 26 million hect of degraded land by 2030.
