1. Shankar Prasad Sharma appointed as new Nepal envoy to India

• President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed Dr Shankar Prasad Sharma as the Ambassador to India.
• President Bhandari appointed Sharma to the post as per the recommendation of the Council of Ministers in line with the Article 282 of the Constitution of Nepal.
• Post of Nepal’s envoy in New Delhi was vacant after Ambassador Nilambar Acharya, was recalled some six months ago.

• Karnataka Bank has bagged ‘Best MSME Bank of the year – Winner’ award among private sector Banks at the 8th Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises’ s Excellence Awards Ceremony and Summit instituted by ASSOCHAM at New Delhi.

3. Narasinghapettai nagaswaram bags GI tag

• Nagaswaram made in Narasinghapettai in Thanjavur district has been granted the Geographical Indication (GI) tag on the application filed by the Thanjavur Musical Instruments Workers Co-operative Cottage Industrial Society Ltd.

10. NMDC signs MoU with IIT Kharagpur for Drone-Based Mineral Exploration

• National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (NMDC), Country’s largest Iron Ore producer, a CPSE under Ministry of Steel signed a MoU with IIT Kharagpur for drone-based mineral exploration.
• NMDC has been exploring minerals for six decades for a wide range of minerals such as Copper, Rock phosphate, Limestone, magnesite, Diamond, Tungsten and Beach sands amongst others.

• Dredging Corporation of India has signed a historic Ship Building Agreement for the First Make in India Project for Construction of First Beagle Series 12 Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger of 12000 Cubic Meter capacity at Cochin Shipyard Limited.
• Ship Building Agreement would also benefit from the Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Policy (SFAP) (2016) of the Ministry of Port.
• Dredging Corporation of India Ltd, Visakhapatnam is a listed dredging company in India.

13. Mumbai Releases Climate Action Plan to Zero Out Carbon Emissions by 2050

• The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has unveiled the Mumbai Climate Action Plan (MCAP) – a comprehensive strategy to tackle the challenges of climate change in the city and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
• The BMC also revealed that there are certain infrastructure projects (worth Rs 40,000 crore) that are working towards making Mumbai climate resilient.

14. Delhi govt launches ‘My EV’ portal for purchasing, registering e-autos; buyers to get additional relief

• The Delhi government launched an online portal “My EV” for the purchase and registration of electric autos in the city.
• The government will also provide a 5 percent interest subvention on the purchase of e-autos on loans under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy, an official statement said, adding Delhi has now become the first state to provide such a facility.
