- Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the National Conference of Environment Ministers of all states in Gujarat and said New India is emerging fast as a leader in sustainable solutions.

2. Skill India partners with Samsung to upskill youth in future technologies
- The Electronics Sector Skill Council of India (ESSCI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Samsung India, for a skilling initiative.
- It aims to empower the youth with industry relevant skills in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Big Data and Coding & Programming, in a bid to enhance their employability.

3. Supreme Court appoints Ex-Judge L Nageswara Rao for amending constitution of IOC
- In a case challenging the order of the Delhi High Court directing handing over of affairs of Indian Olympic Association to a Committee of Administrators (CoA), the Supreme Court appointed its former Judge L. Nageswara Rao, to take over the process of amending the sports body’s constitution, preparing its electoral rolls, and conducting elections to its executive body.

- Federal Bank has tied up with Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) to facilitate Utility Bill Payment services for Non-resident Indian (NRI) Diaspora.
- This arrangement enables overseas remittance partners (exchange houses and banks) to pay Indian utility bills of over 20,000 billers in more than 20 categories in a cost effective and convenient option

- ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund has launched the industry’s first auto index fund, the ICICI Prudential Nifty Auto Index Fund.

- The index comprises 15 listed companies and represents auto-related sectors such as auto ancillaries and tyres too.

- Keeping in mind the need for having a dedicated fund with the primary objective of dealing with any kind of emergency or distress situation, like posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and to provide relief to the affected, a public charitable trust under the name of ‘Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund)’ has been set up.

- MotoGP commercial rights owner Dorna and Noida-based race promoters Fairstreet Sports signed a MoU to host the premier two-wheel racing event in India for the next seven years.

11. ADB trims India growth estimate by 50 basis points to 7% for FY23
- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) reduced its forecast for India’s gross domestic product growth for the fiscal year 2022–2023 (FY23) to 7% from 7.2%, citing weak global demand and tightening monetary policy to combat inflationary pressures brought on by high prices for oil and other commodities.

12. Cabinet approves Programme for Development of Semiconductors and Display Manufacturing Ecosystem in India
- Fiscal support of 50% of capital expenditure on a pari-passu basis will be available under the Scheme for Setting up of Compound Semiconductors / Silicon Photonics / Sensors Fab and Semiconductor ATMP /OSAT facilities in India.

- OSAT = Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test.
- Additionally, target technologies under the scheme will include Discrete Semiconductor Fabs.

- India’s Presidency of the prestigious Asia-pacific Institute of Broadcasting Development, AIBD has been extended for one more year.
