1. RBI-constituted panel to review customer service standards in banks, NBFCs
- The RBI has set up a committee to evaluate the efficacy, adequacy and quality of customer service in banks, NBFCs, and other entities regulated by it.
- The six-member committee headed by former RBI deputy governor B P Kanungo has been asked to submit a report within three months from the date of its first meeting.
2. WEF forms Indian CEOs’ alliance to supercharge race to net-zero
- The World Economic Forum (WEF) announced a new ‘Alliance of CEO Climate Action Leaders India’ that will work towards fast-tracking decarbonisation pathways along India’s net-zero journey.
- The Alliance will serve as a high-level platform to support business leaders in planning and implementing plans and programmes to achieve climate targets, including net-zero economic growth.
- The Alliance is a collaboration between Kearney and Observer Research Foundation.
3. For passenger vehicles, Tata Power, Tata Motors Collaborate to Develop A 7MWp solar rooftop project
- Tata Power and Tata Motors announced collaborating on a project to develop a 7 MWp solar rooftop project at Tata Motors’ plant in Chikhali, Pune, making the unit home to India’s largest on-site solar project.
- This is the third phase of a joint MWp on-site solar project developed by the two companies.
- A 10 MWp has been previously installed.
- The two companies have also inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the project.
4. India, US ink Investment Incentive Agreement for fiscal support
- The Government of India and the Government of the USA have signed an Investment Incentive Agreement (IIA) in Tokyo, Japan.
- This IIA supersedes the Investment Incentive Agreement signed between India and the USA in the year 1997.
- The Agreement is the legal requirement for DFC, a development finance agency of the USA, to continue providing investment support in India.

- The Prime Minister participated in the event to launch the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity.
- The IPEF seeks to strengthen economic partnership amongst participating countries with the objective of enhancing resilience, sustainability, inclusiveness, economic growth, fairness, and competitiveness in the Indo-Pacific region.
6. Veteran Communist leader Shivaji Patnaik passes away
- Veteran Communist leader and three-time Member of Parliament Shivaji Patnaik passed away in Odisha.
- He was 93.
- Shivaji Patnaik is lauded as the founder of CPI (Marxist) in Odisha.
- Born on August 10, 1930, the veteran leader joined the State student’s movement at the age of 17 when he was studying at Ravenshaw College.
7. JSW One Platforms appoints Gaurav Sachdeva as CEO
- JSW One Platforms, an e-commerce venture by JSW Group, has appointed Gaurav Sachdeva as CEO.
- Sachdeva transitioned from his role at JSW Ventures where he led venture capital investments for the fund.
- In his new role, his aim is to create a platform that will ease buying and selling of steel and other products for manufacturing and construction MSMEs in the country.

- The fourth edition of the Indian Navy-Bangladesh Navy Coordinated Patrol CORPAT commenced in the Northern Bay of Bengal.
- Indian Navy and Bangladesh Navy units will undertake joint patrolling along the International Maritime Boundary Line IMBL.
- The last IN-BN CORPAT was conducted in October 2020.
10. India, Singapore agree to share more information and best practices to counter terrorism
- India and Singapore has strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms including cross border terrorism.
- Both the countries stressed the need to enhance international cooperation to combat terrorism in a comprehensive manner.
- India and Singapore held the 4th meeting of the Joint Working Group (JWG) on Combating Terrorism and Transnational Crime in Singapore.

- J&K’s Department of Information and Public Relations has inked a MoU with the National Film Development Corporation Limited for the upcoming 1st National Film Festival of J&K.
- The purpose of the festival is to highlight and promote the creative ecosystem of the UT, besides branding J&K as the most preferred destination for filmmakers from the country and abroad.

- Viswanathan Anand made his comeback to elite competitions memorable by winning the rapid section of the Grand Chess Tour Superbet chess tournament at Warsaw, Poland.
- In fact, Anand ensured the title with a round to spare after his nearest challenger Richard Rapport lost to Wesley So in the eighth and penultimate round.
- Anand scored 14 points from a maximum of 18 after nine rounds.
13. Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw successfully tests made-in-India 5G call at IIT Madras
- Telecom and IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has visited the 5G test-bed at IIT Madras and successfully tested a 5G call on an indigenously-developed network.
- The test-bed had been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- This is the first step towards making the solution feasible commercially.
