1. Union Agriculture Ministry to launch ‘Kisan Bhagidari, Prathmikta Hamari’ campaign

• Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is organizing the ‘Kisan Bhagidari, Prathmikta Hamari’ campaign.
• The campaign which will continue till 30th of this month is being organised under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ in association with various other Ministries and Departments.

2. PM Modi to inaugurate 7th edition of Raisina Dialogue

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the seventh edition of the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi.
• President of the European Commission Ursula Von Der Leyen will be the chief guest at the Dialogue. Several former Prime Ministers of different countries and other dignitaries will also participate in the event.
• The 3-day Dialogue is based on the theme – Terranova, impassioned, impatient, imperilled.

3. PM Modi visits J-K to participate in Panchayati Raj Day event, inaugurate Amrit Sarovar initiative

• The Prime Minister will visit Palli Panchayat in Samba district.
• He will inaugurate the Amrit Sarovar initiative which is aimed at developing and rejuvenating 75 water bodies in each district of the country.
• The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of three road packages of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway and Ratle and Kwar Hydroelectric projects
• He will also inaugurate the 8.45 km long Banihal Qazigund Road Tunnel.

4. 2022 Asian Wrestling Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; Ravi Dahiya became the first-ever Indian to win hat-trick.

• Ravi Kumar Dahiya (57kg) won his third successive gold medal in the Asian Wrestling Championships.
• He also became the first-ever Indian freestyle wrestler to win a hat-trick of Asian Championship gold medals.
• Bajrang Punia (65kg) settled for silver. Gourav Baliyan(79kg) also bagged silver while Naveen(70kg) and Satywart Kadian(97kg) took home bronze.

5. International Financial Services Authority issues framework for investment funds

• As per IFSCA(Fund Management) Regulations, 2022, a Fund Management Entity will be registered with IFSCA and will be able to manage different types of funds and schemes subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
• Venture Capital Schemes or non-retail schemes soliciting money from accredited investors only shall qualify for a green channel etc.

6. First edition of Naval Commanders’ Conference of 2022 underway in New Delhi

• The first edition of the Naval Commanders’ Conference of 2022 is underway in New Delhi.
• The conference serves as a platform for naval commanders to discuss important maritime matters at the military-strategic level as well as interact with senior government functionaries through an institutionalised forum.

7. SIDBI signs MoU with WBSIDCL to develop ecosystem for MSMEs in Bengal

• Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), the leading financial institution for the MSME sector, has entered into an MoU with West Bengal Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (WBSIDCL) to develop the ecosystem for micro and small enterprises in the state.

8. Veteran Congress leader K Sankaranarayanan passes away aged 89

• Senior Congress leader K Sankaranarayanan, who served as governor of various states during his decades-long career, passed away.
• He was 89.
• The senior Congress leader was a four-time legislator and had held finance, excise and agriculture portfolios in various governments in Kerala.

9. Former Meghalaya CM J.D. Rymbai no more

• Meghalaya’s former chief minister J.D. Rymbai, passed away.
• He entered active politics in 1983 and contested elections to the legislative assembly of Meghalaya on the Congress party ticket from the Jirang constituency successfully.
• He replaced D.D. Lapang as the Chief Minister of Meghalaya in 2006 for a year.

10. Manipur celebrated Khongjom Day at Khongjom War Memorial Complex

• Manipur celebrated Khongjom Day at Khongjom War Memorial Complex at Khebaching of Thoubal district.
• Khongjom Day is celebrated every year on the 23rd of April remembering those gallant Manipuri warriors who made supreme sacrifice fighting against the British to protect the freedom of Manipur in the battle of Khongjom during the 1891 Anglo-Manipuri War.

• The founder of educational charity ‘Bidyanando’ Kishroe Kumar Das from Bangladesh has been chosen for the Commonwealth Points of Light Award for his exceptional work in improving access to education for children from marginalised backgrounds, said the British High Commission.

• India was designated as the Guest of Honour Country at the Paris Book Festival 2022 organized from 21st to 24th April, 2022.
• India Pavilion designed by National Institute of Design (NID), housing more than 15 digital and physical exhibitions displaying over 400 books published in various Indian languages representing the works of 65 Indian publishers,was inaugurated.

15. Ashwin Yardi, CEO Of Capgemini India Joins UNICEF YuWaah Board As Co-Chair

• UNICEF’s YuWaah’ – the Indian chapter of Generation Unlimited – has announced Ashwin Yardi, the CEO of Capgemini in India, to be its co-chair.
• Yardi will be a co-chair along with Yasumasa Kimura, the UNICEF Representative.

16. Andrey Rublev beats Novak Djokovic to win Serbia Open title

• Andrey Rublev defeated Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-7 (4), 6-0 to win the Serbia Open for his third title of the season.
• The second-seeded Russian player dug deep to stop Djokovic from mounting another comeback as he prevented the top-ranked Serb from claiming his first title of 2022.
