1. PM Modi to inaugurate India’s biggest Drone Festival at Pragati Maidan in Delhi
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India’s biggest drone festival and interact with kisan drone pilots as well as witness open-air drone demonstrations.
- Modi will inaugurate India’s biggest Drone Festival – ‘Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022’ – on May 27 at 10 am at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
- ‘Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022’ is a two-day event and is being held on May 27 & 28.
2. 26 Years old Captain Abhilasha Barak becomes Indian Army’s first woman combat aviator
- Captain Abhilasha Barak became the first woman officer to join the Army Aviation Corps as a combat aviator after completing the combat army aviation course.
- She was awarded the coveted wings along with 36 other army pilots by the Director-General and Colonel Commandant of Army Aviation during a valedictory ceremony held at the Combat Army Aviation Training School in Nashik.
3. Narinder Batra Steps Down as Indian Olympic Association President
- Narinder Batra will step down as the president of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) at the end of his term to focus more on his job as the head of the International Hockey Federation (FIH).
- The 65-year-old Batra took charge of the IOA for the first time in 2017 and was eligible to contest for reelection.
4. SBI introduces Xpress Credit on YONO app
- State Bank of India (SBI) has launched personal loan product ‘Xpress Credit’ for salaried customers on its YONO digital banking platform.
- Eligible customers will now be able to avail personal loans (Real Time Xpress Credit/RTXC) up to ₹35 lakh via YONO, without any paperwork, the country’s largest bank.
5. NICSI inks MoU with Delhi School of Management for R&D management and Consultancy in e-Governance
- National Informatics Centre Services Incorporated (NICSI), a Government of India Enterprise under the National Informatics Centre.
- The Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), and Delhi School of Management (DSM), Delhi Technological University (DTU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

- Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been honoured with an international award for his contribution to cinema.
- At the prestigious French Riviera Film Festival, Emmy award-winning American actor Vincent De Paul bestowed the honour on Siddiqui.
- He is the only actor in the world to have eight films officially selected and screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

8. Union Government to Introduce “made in India” skin test for TB
- Made in India’ tuberculosis (TB) infection skin test called ‘c-TB ‘was introduced in the 35th board meeting of the “Stop TB Partnership” through video-conferencing in Delhi.
- New initiative, “Adopt people with TB” will be launched this year urging corporates, industries, organizations, political parties and individuals to come forward and adopt TB infected people and families.
9. Govt. reconstitutes Central Advisory Board on Archaeology
- CABA is revised for a period of three years.
- The board consists of the Culture Minister as the chairperson and including officials from the Culture Ministry and ASI, MPs, nominees of State governments, representatives of universities, scientists and experts on Indus Valley script.
- Last meeting was held on October 17, 2014 with 53 members, including 13 State govt. nominees.
10. UNICEF and WHO launch the first Global Report on Assistive Technology
- The first Global Report on Assistive Technology (GReAT) was launched by The World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
- 10 key actionable recommendations on improving access to assistive technology for every child were shared by Innocenti.
- Currently, 2.5 billion people need assistive technology worldwide.
11. Secretary, MoHUA Launches Swachh Survekshan 2023 Under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0
- The Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Shri Manoj Joshi has launched the eighth edition of Swachh Survekshan (SS) – SS 2023 under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0.
- Designed with the theme of ‘Waste to Wealth’ as its driving philosophy, SS 2023 is curated towards achieving circularity in waste management.
12. BSNL to migrate 30,000 wifi hotspots to PM-WANI framework by June: DoT official
- BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd) will migrate 30,000 of its wifi hotspots to the PM-WANI framework by June, adding Railways too has an ambitious blueprint for all its future hotspots to be under the framework.
- The public Wi-Fi Access Network Interface, known as PM-WANI, holds the promise of unleashing a massive wifi revolution in the country.
13. PBKS’ Shikhar Dhawan becomes first player to hit 700 fours in IPL’s history
- Punjab Kings opening batter Shikhar Dhawan has become the first player to hit 700 fours in the history of the IPL.
- Dhawan reached this feat during the last league stage match of IPL 2022, between PBKS and Sunrisers Hyderabad, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
- The batter has now a total of 701 IPL fours to his name.

- State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has become the first gas producer to trade domestic gas on the Indian Gas Exchange, trading unspecified volumes from its eastern offshore KG-DWN-98/2 block.
- ONGC has become the first exploration and production (E&P) company in India to trade domestic gas on Indian Gas Exchange.

19. SEBI Withdraws Permanent Recognition Granted To ICEX
- Markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India has withdrawn the recognition granted to the Indian Commodity Exchange Ltd.
- Consequent to the withdrawal, ICEX has been directed to transfer the money available in the Investor Protection Fund and Investor Services Fund of ICEX to SEBI’s Investor Protection and Education Fund.
