a state-of-the-art agile Earth observation satellite.

3. DPIIT notifies policy to allow 100% FDI in insurance intermediaries
- The
Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT)
- Amended
the Consolidated Foreign Direct Investment Policy 2017 (FDI Policy)
- To allow
100 per cent FDI in insurance intermediaries through the automatic route.
- Till now,
FDI up to 49% was allowed in insurance intermediaries.
4. Union FPI Minister launches Market Intelligence and Early Warning
System (MIEWS) Portal for Monitoring prices of TOP Crops
- Portal
can be accessed at http://miews.nafed-india.com.
- It is a
‘first-of-its-kind’ platform for ‘real time monitoring’ of prices of tomato,
onion and potato.

5. CCEA approves Creation of National Technical Textiles Mission

setting up a national technical textiles mission.

- The
mission will have a four-year implementation period from FY 2020-21 to 2023-24.
- Indian
technical textiles segment is estimated at 16 bn. dollars

12. Sahitya Akademi Award for translation goes to K.V. Jeyasri
- K.V.
Jeyasri, a Tamil teacher from Tiruvannamalai, has won the Sahitya Akademi Award
2019
- For her
translation of the Malayalam novel Nilam Poothu Malarnna Naal (The day the land
bloomed and blossomed) into Tamil as Nilam Poothu Malarntha Naal.
- The award
includes a cash prize of ₹50,000 and a copper plaque.

Dies
- He
