1. India – Malaysia joint military Exercise “Harimau Shakti -2022” commenced at Pulai, Kluang, Malaysia
- The India-Malaysia joint military exercise “Harimau Shakti -2022” began on November 28 in Pulai, Kluang, Malaysia and will end on December 12, 2022.
- Exercise HARIMAU SHAKTI is an annual training event between the Indian and Malaysian Army which is being conducted since 2012.
2. Ministry of Power launches scheme for to procure aggregate power of 4500 MW to help states facing power shortage
- The Ministry of Power kicks off a Scheme for Procurement of Aggregate Power of 4500 MW on competitive basis or five years on Finance, Own and Operate (FOO) basis under B (v) of SHAKTI Policy.
- SHAKTI = Scheme for Harnessing and Allocating Koyala Transparently in India.
- PFC Consulting Limited has been designated as the Nodal Agency by the Ministry of Power and has invited bids for supply of 4,500 MW.
- Supply of electricity will commence from April 2023.
3. Chennai-Based Space Start-Up Agnikul Cosmos sets up India’s first private space vehicle launch pad at Sriharikota
- Chennai-based space technology startup Agnikul Cosmos has built India’s first launch pad at a facility in Sriharikota.
- The launchpad, which will be operated by a private player, was designed by Agnikul and later executed with the help of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Center (IN-SPACe).
4. Bank credit growth accelerates to 17.2% in July-September quarter: RBI data
- Reserve Bank of India’s SCB Quarterly Statistics on Deposits and Credit: September 2022 data showed that bank loan growth accelerated to 17.2% in the quarter ended September 2022 from 7% a year earlier.
- RBI collects this data from all scheduled commercial banks (SCBs), which include RRBs, SFBs, and payments banks.
- In the quarter ended June 2022, bank credit was at 14.2 percent.
5. RBI asks Paytm to reapply for payment aggregator licence
- One97 Communications, which owns the Paytm brand, said the RBI had given Paytm Payment Services Limited (PPSL) 120 calendar days to resubmit its payment aggregation license application.
- A payment aggregator is 3rd-party that manages & processes merchants’ online transactions with consumers, allowing merchants to be more hands-off in their payment process.

6. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya wins UNESCO Award for cultural heritage conservation
- Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) received the “Certificate of Excellence” at the 2022 Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation presented by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
- The jury applauded the “heroic” CSMVS project which is “part of the Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Ensembles of Mumbai.
7. NASA’s Artemis 1 Orion capsule sets new flight record
- NASA’s Artemis 1 Orion capsule set a new spaceflight record for a manned spacecraft, which traveled 401,798 kilometers from Earth.
- The record was previously held by Apollo 13 which logged the record on April 14, 1970 by travelling 400,171 kilometers.
- The Artemis 1 Orion capsule was launched without any plan to break the record.
8. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan launches the book ‘India: The Mother of Democracy’ published by ICHR
- Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education and Skills Development, publishes the book India: Mother of Democracy, published by the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), New Delhi.
- The book is an attempt to showcase the democratic ethos ingrained in India since the dawn of civilisation.
9. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar inaugurates Ganga water supply project in Rajgir
- Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has launched an ambitious program in Nalanda district to recycle floodwater to supply households in the southern part of the state.
- Kumar, following the inauguration of Ganga Water Supply Scheme (GWSS) in Rajgir, said the project will facilitate supply of 135 litres of treated Ganga water every day for each person in a household.
10. Prasar Bharati hosting ABU General Assembly 2022 in New Delhi
- ndian public broadcaster Prasar Bharati will host the 59th Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Congress in 2022.
- The meeting started in New Delhi on November 25 and will continue until the 30th of this month.
- The theme of this year’s assembly is Serving the People: Media’s Role in Times of Crisis.
- The event coincides with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
- The ABU is a nonprofit, professional association of broadcasting orgs of Asia & Pacific.
11. Vishwanath, Vanshaj, Devika clinch gold medals at Youth World Boxing Championships
- Indian boxers Vishwanath Suresh, Vanshaj and Devika Ghorpade claim gold at the 2022 IBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Championships in La Nucia, Spain.
- With 11 medals, India topped in the ongoing edition of the event, followed by Uzbekistan (10), Ireland (7) and Kazakhstan (7).
12. Mutual fund investors to get dividend payments within 7 days from record date
- SEBI issued a circular on November 25 urging mutual fund houses to pay dividends within seven days of the record date.
- It further directed that the record date should be two working days from the date of a public notice.
- In case of redemption or repurchase of units, the fund houses are told to pay out the proceeds within three working days.
13. Indian Navy launches new survey vessel ‘Ikshak’
- Ikshak, the third of four (large) survey vessels built by GRSE/L&T for the Indian Navy, was launched from Kattupalli, Chennai.
- Contract for building four SVL ships was signed between MoD and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata on 30 October, 2018 for a total cost of ₹2435 crore.
14. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to co-chair 4th India-France Annual Defence Dialogue
- Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will co-chair the fourth annual India-France Defense Dialogue with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu during his visit to India from November 26-28.
- This is the first visit of Mr Sebastien Lecornu as French Minister of Armed Forces to India.
- He also visits India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.

- India and Colombia reviewed bilateral relations and discussed cooperation in international forums.

- SEBI changed the norms to bring buying and selling of mutual fund shares within the scope of insider trading rules.
- At present, insider trading rules are applicable to dealing in securities of listed companies or those proposed to be listed, when in possession of Unpublished Price Sensitive Information (UPSI) whereas mutual funds are excluded from the def of securities.
