- Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away in Mumbai at the age of 92 after suffering a multi organ failure last night.
- Considered one of Indian cinema’s greatest singers, Mangeshkar received the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour, in 2001.
- Lata Mangeshkar was the first Indian to perform at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1974.
4. IndiGo appoints co-founder and promoter Rahul Bhatia as MD
- Rahul Bhatia, the co-founder of IndiGo, is taking on a newly-created executive position of managing director at the company, after the biggest budget carrier in Asia by market value posted a surprise quarterly profit.
- Bhatia will oversee all aspects of the airline, and actively lead the management team, Chairman Meleveetil Damodaran said in the statement.

5. NTPC puts into operation 74.8 MW solar capacity in Rajasthan
- State-run power giant NTPC has said that 88 MW power generation capacity is commercially operational at Fatehgarh Solar PV Project at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.
- With this, commercial capacity of the NTPC and NTPC group has become 54,377.30 MW and 67,832.30 MW respectively.
- Bhadla Solar Park, with capacity of 2,245 MW, is the biggest solar plant.
6. Foundation Stone Of World’s Third Largest Cricket Stadium Laid In Jaipur
- The world’s third-largest cricket stadium is going to be built in Jaipur, and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot & BCCI president Sourav Ganguly laid the foundation stone of the project virtually.
- It will be the second-largest cricket stadium in India and the third-largest in the world & it would seat 75,000 spectators.

8. Govt decides to continue the Scheme of Rashtriya Yuva Sashaktikaran Karyakram for another 5 years
- The Central Government has decided to continue the Scheme of “Rashtriya Yuva Sashaktikaran Karyakram (RYSK)” for another five years from 2021 – 22 to 2025-26 with an outlay of over Rs. 2,710 crore.
- The decision was taken with a view to achieving the objectives of developing the personality and leadership qualities of the youth and to engage them in nation building activities.

9. RBI cancels licence of Nashik based Independence Co-operative Bank Limited
- RBI has cancelled the licence of Nashik based Independence Co-operative Bank Limited.
- The bank will not be allowed to carry out any operations henceforth and a liquidator will be appointed soon.
- RBI has clarified that the bank does not have adequate capital and earning prospects.
10. 15% tax for new investment in manufacturing to have sunset clause: Revenue Secretary at ASSOCHAM meet
- The concessional tax rate of 15 percent has been extended by a year till 2024 in the Union Budget.
- Revenue Secretary said, there is a sunset clause on the special dispensation of concessional 15 per cent tax on companies setting up greenfield manufacturing facilities and therefore the government encourages businesses to set up before the sunset date.
