RBI slaps penalty on Federal Bank and Bank of India

RBI has imposed a penalty of Rs 5.72 crore on Federal Bank for deficiencies in regulatory compliance. An amount of Rs 70 lakh has also been imposed on Bank of India for non-compliance with certain provisions of Know Your Customer (KYC) norms and instructions on compliance function in banks.

Former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe Dies

Japan's former prime minister Shinzo Abe has died after being shot while campaigning for a parliamentary election in the Nara region. A man opened fire on Abe, from behind. Abe was 67 years of age. Abe was prime minister of Japan and twice President of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) from 2006 to 2007 and from 2012 to 2020.
