1. N Biren Singh Takes Oath As Manipur CM For Second Time
- N Biren Singh was sworn in as the chief minister of Manipur for the second time at the Raj Bhavan.
- Singh, along with five cabinet ministers, were administered oath by Governor La Ganesan.
2. NPCI set to launch UPI Lite for small value transactions in offline mode
- The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is set to launch UPI Lite, which would enable small value transactions in an offline mode.
- At present, it will be near offline but will require a smartphone.
- It is set to go live with pilots in the next 1 week or 10 days.
- NPCI has designed the UPI Lite – on-device wallet functionality for UPI users.
3. IIT Madras launches AquaMAP for improving water use in agriculture
- The principal scientific advisor to the government of India, Vijay Raghavan, inaugurated a new water management and policy centre, AquaMAP, at IIT Madras that will focus on improving the agricultural water use efficiency.
- IIT Madras is collaborating with IIT Dharwad around the broad theme of ‘Data Science for Water Security and Agriculture Sustenance’ and AquaMAP is a national water centre.

- Pushkar Singh Dhami will continue as the Uttarakhand chief minister.
- In Goa, Pramod Sawant was unanimously elected the leader of the BJP legislature party, paving the way for him to take over as the chief minister for a second term.

5. Ministry of Civil Aviation confers with “Best Tableaux” Trophy for Republic Day 2022
- The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) was conferred with “Best Tableaux” Trophy.
- The award ceremony took place in the Ministry itself with a small delegation of Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) officials present for the same.
- Republic Day 2022 marks the first time when the Ministry of Civil Aviation tableau took part.

- Kuwait reached a scorching temperature of 53.2 degrees Celsius (127.7 degrees Fahrenheit), making it among the hottest places on earth.

- NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform will confer to seventy five women in its fifth edition of the Women Transforming India Awards on March 21.
- The Awards will be conferred on seventy five women achievers to celebrate their contribution towards a Sashakt Aur Samarth Bharat.

- Goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani made three stunning saves as Hyderabad FC clinched their maiden Indian Super League title after defeating Kerala Blasters in the penalty shootout in the summit clash.
- Hyderabad beat Kerala 3-1 in the shootout after the match ended 1-1 in the regulation and extra-time.
9. Sri Lanka to host Asia Cup T20 tournament from August 27 to September 11
- Sri Lanka will host the Asia Cup T20 tournament from August 27 to September 11, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced after its annual general meeting.
- All five Test teams of the continent — India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and hosts Sri Lanka — will feature in the tournament, along with one more Asian side that will be decided after a qualifier tournament.
10. India-Indonesia hold second security dialogue in Jakarta
- The 2nd India-Indonesia Security Dialogue (IISD) was held in Jakarta.
- It was co- chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal & Security Affairs of Indonesia, Mohammad Mahfud & National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.
- They also discussed several shared priorities, including review of the current global & security issues, countering terrorism & violent extremism, etc.
11. Moody’s cuts India’s GDP forecast to 9.1%
- Moody’s Investors Service has reduced its projection on India’s economic growth in calendar year 2022 to 9.1% from 9.5%, citing high fuel prices & potentially elevated fertilizer costs that could weigh on government finances & limit planned capital spending.
- Moody’s also cut the global growth forecast for 2022 by 0.7% to 3.6%, citing the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war.
12. Pritzker Prize 2022: Francis Kéré becomes first African to win ‘Nobel of architecture’
- The latest edition of Dezeen Debate features Burkinabè architect Diébédo Francis Kéré, who has won this year’s Pritzker Architecture Prize.
- Born in Gando, Burkina Faso, Kéré is the first African and the first Black architect to win the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize, which has been awarded annually since 1979.
