1. PM Modi to chair first National Conference of Chief Secys in Dharamshala on 16-17th June
- In a bid to bolster the relationship between the Centre and State governments, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the first National Conference of Chief Secretaries at HPCA Stadium in Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamshala on 16th and 17th June.
- The focus of the conference is on the rapid and sustained economic growth in partnership with the states.
2. Haryana won Khelo India Youth Games 2021 title
- Haryana emerged champions in the fourth edition of ‘Khelo India Youth Games’ to dethrone defending champions Maharashtra in Panchkula.
- It was the boxers who packed a punch in their performances on the final day to help Haryana take the final lead, leaving Maharashtra behind in second spot.
- Haryana ended their campaign with a grand tally of 52 gold, 39 silver and 46 bronze.
3. Lord Buddha’s Holy Relics from India reach Mongolia for Buddha Purnima festivities
- In a special gesture towards the people of Mongolia, four Holy Relics of Lord Buddha are being taken from India to Mongolia for an 11-day exposition as part of celebrations of Mongolian Buddha Purnima.
- A 25-member delegation, led by Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju accompanying the sacred relics.

4. India’s retail inflation eases to 7.04%
- The retail inflation in May was estimated at 7.04 per cent, according to government data.
- The inflation has eased from a near eight-year high of 7.79 per cent recorded in April.
- Inflation in the food basket was 7.97 per cent in May this year, marginally lower than 8.31 per cent in the previous month.
5. IISM launches pathbreaking India’s first-ever book on Sports Marketing
- India’s leading sports management college, International Institute of Sports Management (IISM) has launched.
- India’s first-ever book on Sports Marketing in the country as part of a series that will aim to enrich students with industry knowledge.
- IISM, founded by former India international cricketer Nilesh Kulkarni, has been a pioneer in Sports Management Studies.

6. Himachal Pradesh becomes the first Indian state to approve a policy for drones
- In a major step forward, the Himachal Pradesh government gave nod to a drone policy as it seeks to enable the use of drones and similar technology for different public services in the hill state.
- The ‘Himachal Pradesh Drone Policy 2022’ envisions creating a holistic drone ecosystem built upon the foundation of Governance and Reforms Using Drones (GARUD).
7. US passes world’s first ‘right to repair’ law for digital electronics
- In a world first, the New York state legislature has passed the “right to repair” bill that will require digital electronics manufacturers to make parts, tools, information, and software available to consumers and independent repair shops.
- The “Fair Repair Act” comes after federal pressure to enforce consumers’ rights to repair and refurbish their purchased goods.
8. India’s star teenager GM R Praggnanandhaa wins Norway Chess Open
- India’s Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa won the Norway Chess Group A open chess tournament after netting 7.5 points from nine rounds.
- The rising Indian star finished a point ahead Marsel Efroimski and Jung Min Seo, who tied for 2nd place.
- The 16-year old GM, the top-seed, remained unbeaten through the nine rounds.
- He finished the tournament with a win over compatriot V Praneet.
9. CCEA approves increase of at least 1.5 times in MSP for Kharif crops for Marketing Season 2022-23
- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved an increase in Minimum Support Price for all intended Kharif crops for Marketing Season 2022-23.
- The approved rates are at least one and half times of the all India weighted average cost of production.
- It will lead to greater investment and production.
- It will also provide assured remunerative prices for the farmers.
10. J-K LG rolls out accidental insurance cover of Rs. 15 lakh for govt employees
- Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha rolled out an accidental insurance cover of Rs 15 lakh for government employees in the union territory.
- Jammu and Kashmir Bank will extend the insurance cover.
- Sinha also launched the bank’s ‘Phone Pe Loan’ facility for government employees.
- The bank has contracted with Oriental Insurance Company for extending the cover,

12. India’s first centralised AC railway terminal in Bengaluru becomes operational
- The ultra luxury Sir M Visvesvaraya Railway Terminal in Karnataka’s capital city Bengaluru was made operational.
- The Ernakulam Tri-Weekly Express chugged through the station to mark this special occasion.
- According to the railway officials, the air-conditioned SMV Railway Terminal is a ₹314 crore project.
- It has solar rooftop panels and a rainwater harvesting mechanism.
13. Maruti Suzuki installs Asia’s largest 20 MWp solar plant at Manesar, Haryana
- Maruti Suzuki has set up a 20 MWp1 solar power plant at its Manesar facility in a bid to maximise the utilisation of renewable energy in its operations.
- The power plant will contribute 28,000 MWH2 annually to the group’s manufacturing unit, which is equivalent to the energy required for the production of more than 67,000 units.
- The expansion is aimed at reducing at least 20,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
