- The Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports (FIFS), the self-regulatory industry body for fantasy sports, announced the appointment of Joy Bhattacharjya as its director-general.
- Bhattacharjya is the CEO of the Prime Volleyball League and is a cricket analyst.

5. Centre receives Rs 23,000 crore proposals under Agriculture Infrastructure Fund
- The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) setup in 2020 aims at providing a medium-long term debt financial facility till 2025-26 for investment in viable projects for post-harvest management infrastructure and community farming assets through interest subvention and financial support.
- AIF with a corpus of Rs 1 lakh crore will be disbursed through loan by 2025-26, ministry officials had said earlier.

6. I2U2: UAE to invest $2 bn to develop integrated food parks across India
- The United Arab Emirates will invest $2 billion to develop a series of integrated food parks across India under the framework of the four-nation grouping ‘I2U2’.
- On the project relating to food parks, the statement said India will provide appropriate land.
- The statement also said the I2U2 group will advance a hybrid renewable energy project in Gujarat consisting of 300 MW.
- The grouping is known as ‘I2U2’ with “I” standing for India and Israel and “U” for US UAE.

9. India’s NSCS Hosts Meeting Of BIMSTEC
- The National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) Government of India organized a two day Meeting of the BIMSTEC Expert Group on Cyber Security Cooperation on 14-15 July 2022 in New Delhi.
- The Meeting is based on the agreement made during the meeting of the BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs held at Bangkok in March 2019 that the BIMSTEC Expert Group will formulate an Action plan.

- APEDA has signed an MoU with Assam Agriculture University (AAU), Jorhat to conduct various training programmes on pre-harvest and post-harvest management including other research activities for the promotion of export from the region.
- APEDA also organized a conference on the Export Potential of Natural, Organic, and Geographical Indications (GI) Agro Products in Guwahati in June.

12. Centre extends scheme for Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies till March 2024
- The Centre has extended the Scheme for (RoSCTL) till March 2024 to boost exports and job creation in the textile sector.
- The Ministry of Textiles stated that the rates of exports of apparel and garments will continue the same as earlier notified by the Ministry.
- The Scheme helped in improving cost efficiency and export competitiveness in the international market.
13. Ministry of Women and Child Development issues Detailed Guidelines for ‘Mission Shakti’
- The Government of India has launched ‘Mission Shakti’ – an integrated women empowerment programme as an umbrella scheme for the safety, security and empowerment of women for implementation during the 15th Finance Commission period 202l-22 to 2025-26.
- The norms of ‘Mission Shakti’ will be applicable with effect from 01.04.2022.

- Samsung has developed a new graphics dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) chip with a faster speed and improved power efficiency.
- The 24-gigabit Graphics Double Data Rate 6 adopts third-generation,10-nanometer technology and boasts a data processing speed that is over 30 percent faster than existing products.

15. Nasscom, Google set up call centre to help rural women entrepreneurs scale up business
- Nasscom Foundation along with Google has set up a call centre in collaboration with a not-for-profit body ISAP to help women farmers scale up their business.
- The project is being run on a pilot basis to initially reach out to 20,000 rural women entrepreneurs across six states Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana and Rajasthan as “DigiVaani Call Center.

- The Gati Shakti University will become the second central university in the state following the Central University of Gujarat.

19. EU gives Croatia final approval to adopt euro currency in 2023
- European Union finance ministers have given Croatia the final approval to adopt the euro single currency on January 1, 2023, replacing the Croatian kuna.
- Lithuania was the last EU member to adopt the euro in 2015, and Bulgaria is the next in line to join the eurozone.
- The Balkan country has stated its willingness to adopt it as of January 1, 2024.
20. NBFCs, HFCs securitisation volumes almost doubled to Rs 33,000 crore in April-June: Report
- Securitisation volumes originated by Non-Banking Financial Companies or NBFCs and Housing Finance Companies or HFCs have almost doubled to around Rs 33,000 crore in the first quarter of the current financial year, a report said.
- The volume of such transactions is expected to cross Rs 1.5 lakh crore in FY23, Icra Ratings said in a report.
