- ONGC Videsh Ltd, the overseas investment arm of state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, announced the appointment of Rajarshi Gupta as its new managing director.
- He has replaced Alok Gupta, who superannuated as ONGC Videsh’s MD last month.

2. SBI’s WhatsApp Banking Services will make banking easier for its customers
- India’s largest public sector lender, State Bank of India has launched its WhatsApp Banking services to make banking easier for its customers.

5. Federal Bank ties up with CBDT to launch online tax payment services

- Private insurer Digit General Insurance has announced the launch of ‘Pay-as-you-drive’ add-on feature to its motor insurance product portfolio.
- It will allow vehicle-owners with low usage to earn a discount of up to 25 percent on annual premiums.

13. CSIR-CECRI, GODI India partner to Make Advanced Li-Ion Cells in Chennai
- CSIR-CECRI (Central Electrochemical Research Institute) and GODI India have entered into a public-private partnership (PPP) to operate and maintain an advanced lithium-ion (li-ion) cell manufacturing facility in Taramani, Chennai.
- This will be the country’s first-ever public-private partnership for the manufacturing of large-scale advanced li-ion cells.

14. Govt. and RBI measures help banks recover bad loans worth more than Rs 8.6 lakh crore in last 8 fiscal years
- As a result of comprehensive steps taken by the government and RBI to check the cases of NPAs and bring them down, scheduled commercial banks (SCBs) recovered Rs 8,60,369 crore over the last eight financial years (provisional data) from NPAs.

15. Under RBI’s ombudsman scheme, 7,813 complaints received against digital apps and recovery agents
- As many as 7,813 complaints against banks and non-banking finance companies (NBFCs), pertaining to digital lending applications and recovery agents, were received under the Integrated Ombudsman Scheme of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) during the last financial year, according to the Central government.
16. Centre appoints Ms. Jayanti Prasad as Whole Time Member of IBBI
- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 189 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (31 of 2016), the Central Government appointed Ms. Jayanti Prasad as a Whole time member of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India for a period of five years or upto the age of sixty-five years or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

17. Centre to Provide Rs 48K cr financial support for Smart Cities Mission in 5 years.

- An equal amount on a matching basis will be contributed by the state government/urban local body (ULB).
18. NIIFL acquires stake in J&K tunnel road Navayuga Quazigund Expressway for Rs 3,036 crore
- National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) has picked up a stake in tunnel road Navayuga Quazigund Expressway in Jammu and Kashmir for about Rs 3,036 crore (USD 380 million) to diversify its asset base.
- The operational tunnel road in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir will be managed by NIIF Master Fund’s proprietary roads platform Athaang Infrastructure.
