1. Centre formulates action plan to promote exports of millets and value-added products of millets
- To promote shipment of nutri-cereals, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry through its agricultural export promotion organization, APEDA has developed a comprehensive strategy to promote Indian millet exports globally from December 2022.
- The proposal of India that was supported by 72 countries led to UNGA declaring 2023 as the International Year of Millets in 2021.

4. India hosted the 2nd BIMSTEC Agriculture Ministers meeting
- India hosted the 2nd Agriculture Ministerial-level meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), Chaired by Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

- NIIFL signs an agreement with JBIC to encourage Japanese investment in India.
- JBIC and the GoI will invest in the India-Japan Fund, which will make equity investments in environmental preservation and low carbon emission strategies.
- The MOU outlines a partnership framework between NIIF and JBIC, which is considering the establishment of a bilateral India-Japan Fund (IJF).

6. BSNL gets Centre’s nod to sign Rs 26,821 crore 4G deal with TCS: Report
- Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has received a pledge from the central government to sign a Rs 26,281 crore agreement with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to pave the way for the rollout of 4G services in India.
- As reported by Economic Times (ET), TCS will set up the 4G lines and maintain the network for nine years.
- BSNL will give Rs 10,000 crore worth of purchase orders to TCS soon.
- BSNL is a fully owned (10%) Government company.
7. MoHUA launches Transport4All through digital innovation challenge stage-2 and Citizen Perception Survey-2022
- The Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep S Puri launched the Transport4All Phase 2 Challenge and Citizen Perception Survey 2022 at an event in New Delhi.
- The Transport4All challenge is an initiative of the MoHUA that aims at enhancing the mobility experience of citizens.
8. NPCI announces BHIM app open-source license model to help banks launch their UPI apps
- NPCI has announced the launch of an open source licence model for its BHIM App.
- Under this initiative towards attaining the goal of ‘Digital Payments for All’, the NPCI will licence the source code of BHIM app to regulated entities which do not yet have a Unified Payments Interface (UPI) app of their own, to empower them to launch their own UPI app.

- Ajit Mohan, the Indian head of Facebook parent Meta, ended his four-year stint at the social media giant abruptly to become the Asia-Pacific head of rival Snap.
- Mohan, who joined Meta in January 2019, was the founding CEO of Disney’s streaming platform Hotstar for four years before joining the social media giant.

- Spain and Senegal launched the International Drought Relief Alliance (IDRA), which is joined by 29 countries including China, the United States and Portugal, the European Union and 30 organizations.
- The IDRA was launched by Spanish prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, and Senegalese president, Macky Sall, in Egypt, during the 27th UNCCC (COP 27).

16. At Ramsar COP14, China pledges to expand and protect Wetlands
- China plans to incorporate 11 million hectares of wetlands into the national park system and implement about 30 wetland restoration projects.
- The commitments were made during the fourteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, or the fourteenth meeting of the Ramsar Conference of the Parties, held jointly in the central Chinese city of Wuhan and Geneva, Switzerland.

17. Mother Tongue Survey Of 576 Languages in India, Completed
- The Ministry of Home Affairs has successfully completed a mother tongue survey that included live video recordings of 576 languages and dialects across the country.
- The home ministry said the Linguistic Survey of India (LSI) is a regular research activity in the country since the 6th Five Year Plan.
