1. Indian Army and Indian Air Force conduct joint exercise ‘Gagan Strike’ in Punjab

• Army’s Kharga Corps and the Indian Air Force conducted a joint exercise to showcase the might and prowess of the armed forces.
• Termed “Gagan Strike”, the exercise was conducted over a period of four days in several areas of Punjab, bordering Ambala in Haryana.Operation validated the Apache 64E and Advanced Light Helicopter WSI as potent weapon delivery platforms.

2. PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates World Dairy Summit 2022 in Greater Noida

• According to union minister for fisheries, animal husbandry and dairying Parshottam Rupala, India is hosting the International Dairy Federation (IDF) global dairy summit after 48 years, where more than 1,500 experts, farmers and processors of dairy products from 50 countries will be participating.
• Last time, India hosted the International Dairy Congress in 1974.
• Scheduled from September 12-15 on the theme of ‘dairy for nutrition and livelihood’.

3. Carlos Alcaraz beats Casper Ruud to claim 1st major, world no.1 ranking at US Open 2022

• The 19-year-old Spaniard defeated fifth-seeded Norwegian Casper Ruud, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(1), 6-3, to earn his first major title and, with it, a debut as world No. 1.
• The Spaniard is the youngest Grand Slam champion since a 19-year-old Rafael Nadal won Roland Garros in 2005, and the youngest US Open champ since a 19-year-old Sampras in 1990.

4. Army chief General Pande flies sortie IAF’s Apache attack helicopter in Ladakh

• Indian Army chief General Manoj Pande flew a sortie in an Indian Air Force (IAF) Apache attack helicopter in Ladakh.
• He is on a two-day visit to the Union Territory.
• The Apache choppers have been deployed in the Ladakh sector since the beginning of the military standoff with China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.

5. India not part of Indo-Pacific Economic Framework trade pillar

• India has not joined the trade pillar of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework with the final contours of the agreement not yet finalized and broader consensus elusive on issues like environment, labour and public procurement.
• IPEF was launched by the US and other partner countries of the Indo-Pacific region on May 23 in Tokyo.
• The 14 partner countries represent 40% of GDP.
• All the other 13 Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for prosperity countries have joined

6. Fortune India Rich List 2022: 142 billionaires worth $832 billion

• The wealth of 142 billionaires based in India is collectively worth $832 billion (Rs 66.36 trillion), according to a Fortune India’s list of ‘India’s Richest’ for 2022.
• The list is made up by Waterfield Advisors and Fortune.
• Information regarding investments outside of the listed business: such as stakes in other public companies and in other private entities/start-ups, etc.

7. Bank of Maharashtra mobilises ₹710 crore through Bonds

• State-owned Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) said it has raised ₹710 crore from bonds to fund business growth.
• The fund raised via Basel III compliant Additional Tier 1 (AT1) bonds of ₹710 crore (including green shoe option of ₹610 crore) is at a coupon rate of 8.74 per cent, the bank said in a statement.
• The AT1 instrument is perpetual in nature; with a call option after 5 years.

8. Space tech startup Agnikul gets patent for single-piece 3D printed rocket engine

• Chennai-based space tech startup Agnikul said it has been awarded an Indian patent for the design and manufacturing of its single-piece rocket engine Agnilet.
• Agnilet is a single-piece 3D-printed rocket engine designed and manufactured in India after being test-fired in early 2021.

9. Odisha government launches Rs 270 crore rainwater harvesting scheme to improve groundwater table

• The Odisha State government is set to launch the Community Harnessing and Harvesting rainwater Artificially from Terrace to Aquifer (CHHATA) scheme that aims to reinvigorate groundwater resources and improve water table from next month.
• The new scheme was approved by the Cabinet last month.
• It will be implemented for a period of five years.

10. PM Modi to launch Cheetah re-introduction project on September 17

• Narendra Modi will launch the Cheetah re-introduction project on the 17th September.
• Disclosing this at the inaugural meeting of the national conference for the Zoo Directors being held in Odisha capital Bhubaneswar, the Union Minister for the environment, forest and climate change Bhupender Yadav said that Cheetah will be brought from Namibia for the purpose.

11. Taragiri, Indian Navy’s third stealth frigate under Project 17A, launched

• Indian Navy’s indigenously designed Nilgiri-class stealth guided missile frigate Taragiri launched 11 september 2022 in Mumbai.
• The frigate Taragiri has been built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL) for the Indian Navy.
• Taragiri, a 149-metre-long and 17.8-metre-wide ship is propelled by a combination of two gas turbines and two main diesel engines.

12. PM Modi virtually inaugurates two-day ‘Centre-State Science Conclave’ in Ahmedabad

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Centre-State Science Conclave’ in Ahmedabad via video conferencing.
• According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the first of its kind Conclave will strengthen Centre-State coordination and collaboration mechanisms – in the spirit of cooperative federalism – to build a robust science, technology and innovation (STI) ecosystem.
• The two-day Conclave is being organized at Science City, Ahmedabad.

13. National Maritime Heritage Complex to be built at Gujarat’s Lothal at a cost of Rs 3,500 crore

• The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MoPSW) is planning to build a National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) at the site of the Indus Valley civilization in Lothal, Gujarat.
• A first of its kind complex in India, this centre will showcase India’s rich and diverse maritime heritage.
• Total cost of the National Maritime Heritage Complex project is ₹3,500 crore.
